How Often for bathing? I was curious to know how often I can bathe my Yorkie? Could anyone help me. |
Well, you could.... You can bathe her everyday if you use the proper products (of course you shouldn't, but you could). I would reccommend a soap free shampoo (maybe an Oatmeal product too for frequent bathing) and a light conditioner. jm2c |
I use a Shampoo that my Vet recommended to me. It is DVM tearless shampoo.. it says it is gentle and soap free Hypoallergenic shampoo, and also have a conditioner the same. So once a week is not to much? |
JoyRenee No, if she is a "pet" and you aren't needing to wrap her coat and keep it properly, then go ahead and feel free to bathe her weekly or as often as needed. Just remember to always take time to rinse ALL of both products out of her coat thoroughly and that's it. Oh, and see where the perfume and dye on your shampoo bottle's ingredients are? Are they high on the list or near the end? If they're high on the list, I'd switch shampoos. You might want to look at the Tropiclean products you can find at PetCo. So the idea is for a frequent shampoo (or any shampoo imo) is that it should be soap free have little to no perfume or dyes. |
I bathe Chloe once a week :) and in between baths I use grooming spray while I brush her out. |
Does anyone use frontline?? My vet said not to bathe my dogs three days before I put it on or three days after. Has anyone else heard of that? I also bathe my babies once a week in the spring & summer and once every two weeks in the fall & winter. |
Thank you for your advice. Yes, My shampoo is soap free. My Vet said that most shampoos will wash out the front line. He told me to use this shampoo that I am using because it will not wash out the frontline. Also it is soap free and hypoallergenic. Hope that helps. I use DVM -tearless Shampoo |
