My neighbor's dog was attacked. I just found out my neighbor's Samoyed was attacked by two Pit Bulls and a Bull dog. Other neighbors came out (one with a piece of ply wood) and scared them off. The dog is fine but he did get bit a few times and is a little shook up. He was so lucky. As of now, nobody knows who owns the dogs. This really scares me, not only for Gus but for all the kids (two of them ours). When I was a kid we were terrorized by two huge dogs that would escape and roam the neighborhood. Nothing was done about it until a boy was bit in the face. The laws have become more strict, right? I hope so. |
How how scary!!! I am so glad to hear that your neighbor's dog will be ok. |
Oh brother, keep a close watch on your children and on Gus. You may be able to contact animal control especially since there has been an incident and these dogs have become vicious. Good luck! |
i dont understand how some people would not notice that there dogs are missing , or let them run loose ,i would keep an eye out for them sounds like they are not that friendly ,where i live we have laws on pit bulls . not to be mean and hope no one takes this the wrong way but i would never own a pit bull ,seen and heard to many stories on pit bulls . i use to have a neighbor that had a pit bull and he would let it run loose and it attack a kid for no reason took a chunk out of this kids face . i dont trust pit bulls :thumbdown |
Aww that's sad. :( Where I live there's now a pitbull ban. So in like 20 years there should be no pitbulls. I think that's kind of wrong, but so is what happened to that dog. |
I wish I lived where they were not allowed. On Easter sunday a lady here was attacked and lost her arm. She worked at the same hospital my daughter works at. Of course they can't find the owners. |
Erin - Sorry to hear about your neighbor's dog. I can hardly imagine how frightening that would be. I have to disagree with Pitt Bull bans, because I truly believe that any dog can be vicious. I know a vicious Yellow Lab and a vicious German Shephard who had to be put down. I truly believe it has to do with the upbringing and parents, not the entire breed. |
a pitbull is like any other dog its all in how u raise them. Just like kids u raise them to act the way u want them to...u didn't offend me i am just putting my 2 cents in |
Thanks, guys. The police were called but the dogs were long gone. I am hoping they don't live near but now I will be constantly watching for them. We have a hawk, mean dogs running loose. I'm going to be spinning around in circles looking for danger. |
Dog Attacks! It's amazing how some people raise their animals.....it's not just pit bulls! I have bred Pit Bulls they are just like any other Breed. It's how they are trained and brought up/raised? Yorkies are the same Terrier Blood. They shake and lock their jaws too. But be absolutely clear some Breeds were bred for specific reasons hunting, guarding, herding. It's not the dogs it's their owners! That's why the Laws are more strict. I have a friend who used to take her Lab hiking with another friend's Rottweiler on a daily basis. One day she watched that same Rottweiler kill her male Yorkie, in a split second it was too late. You can't trust any one elses Dog. Yeah the owner/friend bought her a new one to replace him, but I wouldn't want to go thru all that grief! I bring my male Yorkie to the local Dog Park every day but I especially watch out for Boxers, Doberman Pinchers, Rottweilers, Great Danes, German Shepards, Mastiffs and Pit Bulls. Unfortunately my male Yorkie is so brave/ego wise that he doesn't know that he is only 6 pounds? So I find myself always on guard and ready to defend him! Funny thing when I come across these Breeds their owners are always the first to say that "They like small dogs it's OK." Yeah for Appetizers. |
It is so sad....i feel sorry for the animals, they are the true victims... Now, i would keep my eye out and see if you find who the owner was...i understand accidents happen BUT a responsible owner would at least try to make things right....so i hope you guys can find the owner soon and report to the police. |

I am so sorry to hear what happened to that poor dog. I, too, cannot understand how owners just don't notice their dogs are missing or leave an outlet for them to get out of. I'm not sure about pitbulls attitude by the way it's raised though, although I'm not very knowledgeable about pitbulls. My old supervisor at work had a pitbull that she said was raised in a very loving environment, he was spoiled and everything. Randomly, one day he just attacked her and she came into work with her arm on a sling because she had to get stitches. She was horrified! :( I am, for no explainable reason, scared of pitbulls myself! But all in all, I am glad to hear that your neighbors dog is okay. :) |
