Can Lexi have sunflower seeds? I am a sunflower seed junkie and a couple times I have cracked em open and gave her the seed. She would rather the seeds over any of her puppy treats. So I was wondering if she could have them? |
Are sunflower seeds somewhat oily and or fattening? That's the only concern I'd have, but I doubt a FEW seeds could seriously hurt her. In fact, this dog food openly promotes the fact that it has sunflower seeds: SEEDS Sesame and sunflower seeds are found in PetLife Plus. These seeds are the ripened ovules of the plants. The most important nutritive elements of these edible seeds are the B Complex, Vitamin A, Vitamin D, and Vitamin E. Rich in proteins and unsaturated fats, these seeds also have the minerals phosphorus, calcium, iron, fluorine, iodine, potassium, magnesium, and zinc. For example, sesame seeds are rich in protein, unsaturated fatty acids and high in calcium content. Sunflower seeds contain up to 50 % protein, which raises energy, are rich in vitamin E, unsaturated fatty acids, minerals, and B vitamins. http://www.petlifeplus.com/HTML/glossary.html |
Canidae also has sunflower oil..i think...so just a tiny bit won;t hurt...or i think so:) |
