Fixing Grooming Mistakes 2 Attachment(s) Trixie went to a new groomer today (who I found out is still learning to groom). Trixie doesn't look real bad, but not great either. So I'm looking at some advice on how to fix some of it. I don't want to take her back, because I don't think the groomer knows how to fix it (I asked her when I was there, and she kept snipping away, but not the way I wanted it... So she didn't charge me) I think her face looks alright (she looks adorable regardless of the cut). But I hate how her chest is cut. It's a straight cut, and doesn't blend in AT ALL. I think it looks aweful. The same goes for her legs; her coat over her back is cut so straight that doesn't blend in with her leg hair. How do I fix this??? Today, I feel like I failed my pup; the groomer also cut two of her nails too short and hit the vain. It has started bleeding three times now... (I put styptic powder on it). I feel soo bad for Trixie... |
Can someone recommend a good groomer in your town? I can't describe how to blend it...but I use to be a hair dresser and this is something easier to show and do then to explain. :( |
btw...I don't think it looks that bad! She is precious, regardless! :) |
I had to laugh when I looked at your pup. I see what you mean about his cut - but he looks so cute!! Wish he were here - I could make an improvement on that cut and I'm not even a groomer. I wouldn't worry - he's just too cute!!! He'd be a little doll no matter what a groomer did to him. Since your groomer didn't charge you - use your money and take him to another groomer. They shape him up a little better. My pup's hair is silky and wavy - so even a bad cut comes out looking pretty good on him. Straighter hair (even in people) shows every little mistake. It really is especially hard to shape. Your pictures are wonderful! Carol Jean |
Poor baby!!! One of my pet peeves is when a groomer cuts the nail's quick, it hurts them and they become scared of you cutting their nails again. That is a weird cut, I think the groomer needs alot more training. Regardless, your girl is still very adorable. If I were you I woud take her to another groomer to fix the hair cut. Because of the way it is cut, I think it would be hard to fix unless you knew what to do and have experience correcting such haircuts. :aimeeyork |
I think your baby is adorable. Maybe if you don't trust your groomer now, you can use your hairdresser, just to fix what you don't like about the cut. She'd probably know what to do without cutting a bunch more off. |
Thanks, I guess I'll try to find a different groomer to fix it. I know it will grow back. But I'm worried it's going to stay weird because of the cut, even if I let it grow it back out. |
grooming From the photos I see what you mean. I always give very specific written instructions on how and what I want trimmed. For example, rigo does not have they typical yorkie pony tail because I ask for a modified westie cut around his face. I would look for a different groomer. |

grooming If you have a clipper with guards, I would simply blend the chest and body length..I start at the part and angle, give it shape..I would trim the ear edge for a neat look and even the chin hair...this is not a bad cut..but it looks a month or so old, ..fresh from the groomer they should look newly cut and even...but it is pretty hard to make her NOT look cute..a real love! |
