Throwing Up Recently Stewie has been throwing up. Not every day, but for example, he threw up on Saturday afternoon and before that it was Tuesday night. Before that it was over a week. He stops whatever he is doing and stands on the floor looking down. He starts making this weird noise like he's trying to swallow, or keep it down. He does this for a little while. When I notice, I walk over to him and try to console him. I open his mouth so he gets whatever it is out... and.... I catch it in my hand so I can examine it. He has thrown up times since I've had him (2 months); I always chalk it up to eating too fast or gobbling a treat too quickly. It's yellow and watery and often has chunks of whatever he ate last. Should I be scared? God, I'm scaring myself just writing this! Any ideas? |
Poor little guy! To me, it sounds like he may have a touchy stomach. My yorkies has a touchy stomach and I've had her on a prescription food mixed with her regular food and she's been doing great on that. I've also read on here that 1/4 a pepcid will help them and I have tried that when Maddie's tummy seems to be growling and she appears uncomfortable. Sometimes I think these little ones ingest things they shouldn't which can upset their systems. I hope you figure it out and little Stewie will improve! Best wishes! |
My dogs does it when they over eat or have an upset stomach. My new yorkie does when he is car sick but we have been working on his problem. |
Glad it's not just me! I am so glad to read this happens to someone else. Tess threw up this morning ... twice!! Luckily we were out in the yard. It always looks the same to me, just like her dog food. I can't find anything in particular that could be making her do it other than maybe something she is eating out in the yard. There are usually a few pieces of grass in it, but that's it. She goes on about her day like nothing ever happened. It doesn't happen on a regular basis, just once in awhile. It think it's happend about 4 times since I've had her. I got her at 8 weeks and she is now 13 weeks so (like I said) it isn't a regular thing. I guess as long as Stewie is playing, eating, and drinking afterward ... I wouldn't worry too much. Hope this helps!! |
Poor Stewie :( Luigi used to throw up all the time. We were soo scared, they ran every test you can imagine on him. Final diagnosis--Sensitive tummy. We would give him his prescription food and 1/4 tablet of pepsid!!! We have finally weaned him totally off the prescription food and is on natural choice ultra. It doesn't bother Luig's tum tum. How old is Stewie? Luig finally got over that when he was bout 5 monthes- 6 monthes old. Luig sends Stewie puppy kisses and :getwellso !! :animal-sm Mandy & Luigi :animal-sm |
Freaked me out the first time as well... Caesar started throwing up a while back. I too couldn't find anything in it. But he would throw up until all his food was gone and it was just liquid. He did this one Saturday and didn't do it again for a few days then did it again. I realized when I started thinking about it that he had ran off with a little piece of one of my plants on both occasions. So I moved both house plants up on shelves so he can't get to them and he hasn't done it since then. I thought oh I will just teach him not to bother them. Well that worked until he did that pounce thing (I know you don't want me to mess with this but I am just going to see how far you will go) Of course I laughed myself half to death then he started thinking it was a game. This is when I realized that the throwing up was occuring on the same days as this. He eats grass outside and that doesn't seem to bother him. Not sure if this is why he was throwing up but he stopped when I moved them. Good luck |
