You could take a towel and sew the edges underneath.all the way around .youll have to wash them but its cheper than buying them... |
Do you have a Sam's club or Costco? They sell potty pads for humans and they are so much cheaper. I pay 23.00 for 120 that are 24"x36". Look for human pads for some reason they are half the price. You can always use newspaper on a floor, but the urine will soak through (and get ink on your carpet) so if you have carpet you will need to put a washable rug, mattress pad for cribs, or something underneath. |
I am going to buy waterproof mattress pads with the plastic backing. Cut it into 30" X 30" squares and sew the edges. That way they are still absorbant and you can just machine wash and reuse. You may want to buy an attractant spray to get them to use it until they know that is where they are to go. Hope this helps. |
thanks sophia, lacy, ytsirk for response :) others comments will be appreciated  |
Mattress pads are a good idea. And if you could find used ones at a thrift store or yard sale then you'd really have a bargain. I like that idea. |
When I'm in a bind I use newspaper with a trash bag underneath to protect the floor. |
i was using newspaper inside the wee pad HOLDER.... so no pee gets on the rug...that worked, but lexi didnt want the newspaper, she wanted her pads back... so im back to wee pads again.... she wont let me save a penney |
I like the mattress pad idea. Unfortunately my babies are very picky about their pee pads. |
We purchased some reusable ones from www.piddlepads.com and they are wonderful. The top layer of the ones we purchased are a plaid print - a somewhat heavy type material and the bottom layer is a water resistant solid color material....that are just sewn together. When these finally wear out....I will be making some instead of purchasing. You could go to their website and look at what they have and then purchase materials that are available to you.Good luck! |
