what should i do???? Hey guys. I need some advice. I havea neighbor 2 doors down that have a dog. They dont take care of it..i mean its been outside in the RAIN AND COLD for three days now. I havent even seen anybody go out and check on him...It is suppose to get like 40 degrees tonight and he has no dog house. I have a old enclosed crate that i thought about sneaking down there but i dont know if their home...what would you do? |
Call the ASPCA to have them check it out. |

I would sneak the crate down. People that leave their dogs outside all the time make me so mad. My neighbors do that too. |

Oh boy...call the police..i'm actually on the phone with my fiance and he is a cop..he even said to call the police..at least you know someone will go there and check things out. If the dog is found outside with no food or water or no shelter then the owners could be in some trouble. The poor little thing. Some people just shouldn't have dogs. It makes me mad. As my little Maddie sits next to me in duck pajamas. |
Try calling the non emergency police number maybe you will get a kind person who will make a house call. Poor dog. People are so horrible to do that. |
Where in Kansas are you? I may be able to give you a couple of numbers to help the poor dog out. |
they are required to give the dog shelter from the elements, so I would call on them. |

I would call the Wichita Humane Society and they can help put you in touch with someone. My sister used to work at the WHS and there are some good people their. (There's also some dozzies too.) I hope you can get the dog the help it needs. Keep us posted please. |
I agree. I don't live in America (any more) but the American Humane Society has a world-class reputation. Maybe call animal control again and tell them you'll go to the press about their indifference. Probably a bit extreme but they'd deserve it anyway |

OH the dog is STILL :mad: outside. The animal control came to their house but nobody would asnswer the door so they left! :mad: Doing NOTHING as friggin usual!! :mad: :mad: :thumbdown I am gonna do my best to get his A$$ fired!!!!!!!! |
What kind of dog is it?? I wonder if you could "coax" it out of the fence and take it somewhere safe. The owners probably wouldn't even notice it was gone. |
Is it a YORKIE?!?!!? They shouldn't be left out like that at all especially in such temperatues. The poor baby! I has it even eaten? If not maybe you can get the poor dear some kibble to eat. |
Pictures. If no one is answering the door, get your ladder and take pictures of the dog. Dog could be starving. :( |

I think I would go talk to the owners and 'apologize' for being so "neurotic', but tell them that you are concerned because their dog doesn't have any shelter and you have a dog crate that you are not using if they want it. I think you always solve more problems by being nice. If you start out with accusations they will become defensive. Had to laugh about 'coaxing' the dog out. It brought back memories of my granny climbing a fence to rescue a starving pit bull. The humane society is more likely than the animal control to take action. Maybe it's because the animal control knows the dog is likely to be euthanized if they impound it. |
Did you try calling the police? (i saw that suggested earlier).... hopefully SOMETHING can be done- the poor baby in the freezing weather! Please keep us updated and see if you can't get this dog some LOVE! |
