Hiding things? Ok, Sheila has picked up this new habit of hiding almost everything I give her. No big deal but it seems to distress her a bit because she'll wander around and make her "squeaky" sound and look up at me. I have a pretty open concept place with little in the way of good hiding compounded by the fact she can't get up on anything. My dogs in the past seemed to prefer the couch :). The funniest thing is when she finds a spot, sometimes pretty much in the open (though she's getting better at finding good spots) she'll dig, dig, dig and then push imaginary sand over it with her head! Another thing, when she's "digging" her sleeping spot (sometimes on linolium!) she makes her growley noise, not really a growl but a funny sort of sound. I get a good laugh everytime she digs her way to China as I call it. I've had a Dachsie and a Setter that had similiar behaviour, but not quite the same if you know what I mean. |
Harbinger, I loved how you described the "pushing imaginary sand over with her head"....Schatzie does that, it cracks me up!!!! :D |
 Toto does that same thing .... only difference, I always have little things handy for her to "pretend dig" on! She has lots of little blankies, fleece beds, etc. and she will dig and dig until everything is "just right" and she will curl up on/in it! The funny thing that she does is always, always makes a "pillow" for her little head! We bought her a doggie pillow but she doesn't want that ... she likes to create her own! ;) She seldom hides things ... she will attempt to hide paper if she happens to get a little scrap but we are very careful not to leave any down where she can get her little lips on it! She is just soooo funny ... she keeps us in stitches! |
Chachi doesn't do this yet. I quess this is one more thing to watch for. He does hide his toys though. I find them under chairs etc. |
LOL...Yorkies are so comical. Maddie hides things and especially greenies. She used to chew the things...now she just looks and looks for just the right hiding spot and sometimes gets frustrated and lets out her little whine noise because she can't get it covered with imaginary sand. I won't be buying any more greenies. hahaha |
my scrappy is always hiding toys from my shih-tzu he hides them under my pillow on our bed ,and then he forgets they are there and when i get in bed there they are . |
