Bad Behaving Yorkie okay-- i'm at my wits end..... here is the story... my mother fell on Good Friday (2 weeks ago) and broke every bone in her foot and had to have surgery..long story short I had to take an emergency leave from work and move back home for a few weeks to take care of her. (I live maybe 3 minutes away from her) I took Madison with me because we, to be honest if I left her home with my fiance, her diet probably would have consisted of fast food and ice cream. Anyway, before this all happened every morning at 6:30am I would drop Madison off at my moms --sort of a Grandma Daycare so my fiance and I wouldn't have to crate Maddie all day long. We are going on 2 weeks now and Madison is out of control! She isn't listening to me, she isn't coming when she is called she is just behaving so badly which is so out of character for her. She does not act like this at home. My mother has a 7yr old Cockapoo and an 7 month old Bichon but they are all used to each other. I can't even blame this behavior on "new surroundings" or "new dogs." What can I do??? Please help!!! I'm turning into a "frazzled Yorkie mommy!!!" |
I don't have the answer for you girl ... just give her lots of loving and hugs from my girls ;) |
I think crating is your only answer right now. Also leash her up when you are at home and reteach the "come" "stay", and other commands until she understands that her behavior is NOT acceptable. It sucks but you kind of have to start over and hope that midway she gets it and snaps back. Good luck. |
Just show her who top dog is " shes probably fending for that posiition .Hugs to you ..and Yorkie moms gotta be top dogs .. |
My guess is, she does not like sharing you with the other dogs and your Mom. Although she is used to being at you mothers during the day, she is not used to sharing you at night. and maybe she misses your boyfriend. |
I didn't think of that. When he comes here she jumps all over him and she tries to jump in her stroller because I think she thinks she's going home. Thank you!!! |

They said (and it is true) that "Children always act worse around their mother." So -- maybe this goes for dogs too.................. Carol Jean |
UMmmmmmmm Not pointing any fingers but did Mom let em run crazy at her house? If this is out of character at your house you never know....it could be totally in character at Mom's house? Just a thought |
Yes I thought that too, but my mom just looks at me with that motherly gleam in her eye and says, "she always behaves with me" |
