Roxy needs a friend Hi, everyone I haven't been here a long while, but I'm back,Roxy and I that is. I was curious what other yorkie owners think about me getting a playmate for Roxy. U see if I have to go to the supermarket or do laundry I really can't take Roxy to those places or to dinner either. I don't have money to purchase another Yorkie (they are quite expensive) so I figured a little kitten maybe. She is 3 months going on 4 months in a few days and I wanted to know if anyone has cats with yorkies ..........Does it work out??? Perhaps a small kitten for her to play with her and grow old with her. I feel like she is lonely and I remember when I bought her she was with her sister and I let them say their goodbyes to each other but I'm sure she must feel lonely some days especially on days when I have to do shopping or laundry etc. Does anyone have cats and yorkies and do they get along? I have had cats and dogs in a household before, but never a dog smaller then a cat lol so I'm hesitant whether I should purchase a kitten for Roxy's companion. :animal36 |
I do not have them living together...however my brother has a cat (11 pounds) and My lil guy loves him he is only half his size (4.6) But they play everytime they see each other. It is quite funny they chase each other in and out of rooms like tom and jerry...Capone my little Yorkie even stands up on his hind legs and boxes right back at the cat! Just make sure your kitten is declawed so your little baby won't get scratched in the eye or anything! Let me know how it turns out. :) |
I do not have a cat but my son does, and when we go over there Cassie and Him play really good together. He is an extra big cat but has been declawed. They love to play and chase each other around. He is so big that he can stand right over Cassie. I think a cat is a great idea. |
If you get a kitten while your puppy is still young, they will grow to be good playmates. At first the kitten will hiss at her, but in a few days they will be playing together. |
