Any opinions? Hi YT-ers, I have a one year old yorkie male and a friend of mine is trying to find a home for a displaced 9 week old yorkie puppy. A mom got "guilted" into buying the puppy, has 2 other big dogs, and can't take care of the yorkie. The new puppy is also a male and he is apparently around 2 pounds right now. I have a few questions... 1.) Is it a good idea to get my dog a play "buddy"? 2.) Can I crate train the puppy (come back at noon to let him out) while I have my other dog in the house? I restrict my dog to the kitchen now using a baby gate and I have him box trained. 3.) If I am box training both, should I get separate boxes? 4.) Is there ANYTHING else I need to know before making the decision to bring a new puppy into our home (aside from having them meet)? Thanks!!! |
I think it would be fantastic to get a play pal! it means they can keep each other company while you are out! Im sure you could crate train him.As for the litter box i dont know wether they can share??? if you can offer the pup the love and care he needs alongside with a good stable home,i think you should go for it! :D |
I have a 9 year old pom who has free run of the house when I'm gone and Cali is in a playpen. No problems! I say go for it. |
