How do I get my yorkie to keep a bow in her hair? My female yorkie is 18 mo old. When I had her as a puppy I repeatedly would pull her hair up and secure it with a small elastic before putting on a bow. I would be firm with her about keeping it in, but the minute my back was turned she would get it out (rub her head on anything until it was loose and would fall off). I finally cut her hair short on top, but it is beginning to grow out again and I sure would like to be able to get her use to a bow? I've been trying again every day and every day she has the elastic out w/i an hour. Any suggestions? Thanks. |
LOL When you learn that trick, please let me know! Princess is three, and to get a picture with a bow in her hair is not an easy thing to do. :2hearts2: |
I just began having some success getting the elastic in Sissy's hair. If she keeps it in for any length at all I consider that a success. As soon as I try to attach a bow, she shakes her head and out they both come!! In order to get a photo with a bow in, it has to be immediate. Good luck! |
Just keep at it and maybe she will learn to keep it in! Once my girls hair is up they really dont mess with it that much! |
I think if you start young you have a better chance I have been putting bows on Wosie since she was 5 months old. She doesn't mind it anymore. Persistence is the key. I also give her a treat after every bow installation! :p |
I started with the small grooming everyday bows.. I got them form Ebay. I always put in an elastic first. I also started putting in the bows when Jewels was 3 months old so she is used to it |
I only have a stub of hair to work with so far, shes only 6 months. I use these little plastic stretchy things my friend had from her daughters doll. They r so small, even if they got it out and swallowed it, im sure from ive already seen her eat in the yard, is bound to come right through. She hasnt gotten one out yet. If I see them anywhere i will tell you what store, they work better than anything ive tried that are made for dogs. |
