My baby's in a cast 1 Attachment(s) Please be careful when picking up squirmish babies like mine. My friend bent down to pick him up and literally was only standing about half way up and Diezel aggressively jumped out of his hands... The instant cry cut thru me like glass :( however he did stop crying once I held him but his arm seemed bent. Tried letting him walk a little and he wasn't acting in any pain, but would not put his paw down and it was very crooked. So in a rush completly hysterical I get to my vet. Turns out a part of his bone shifted downward and knocked his elbow out of the socket. He had a procedure done called a closed reduction. He is in a cast for 2 weeks. Right now he is still groggy and trying to figure out how to use the cast but I am sure tomorrow all hell will break loose. So please.. I know everyone talks about how you have to be careful holding these tiny babies. And I am usually a hawk! Just be extra careful. From now on my #1 rule of the house is no holding the puppy unless you are sitting down!!! |

Thanks everyone.. I always was careful watching people hold him and he is so comfortable with my one friend.. so for him to fight was wierd! But then again no one grasp is as tight as mommys! |

Thanks again everyone. He is still like a piece of mush right now we have been sleeping all night. He can get down his little steps but getting up them is a little hard. He will lose his balance after many attempts. I think I will have to give him a hand until he is a little more comfy. I still am in shock that this happened. Just goes to show you that you cannot be to careful. But on a lighter note I think the lil cast gives him character.. it's quite cute ;) |

Ohhhhhhhhh your precious little guy he looks so miserable, it is so scarey. I never let the grand kids hold Cassie when they came unless they were sitting down, she was so quick too. I will be the same way with Baby Blessing, many times she tries to leap from my arms. I hold on with all my might, oh how I hope he is feeling much better tomorrow. Patti |

I'm with you on the no holding puppys while standing ,,Mini was dropped by well intention adults she was just quicker then they are and wiggled right outta there arms to the floor scared me to death ..she was fine thank goodness but the guest who dropped her felt terrible .so spare the grief ..After that no one held her but me ..which often times was like holding a bronken buck stallon .hahaha Sorry your baby got hurt ..sending puppy kisses and well wishes to u all . |
Oh, I bet your friend feels horrible. I would add, sitting down on the floor. Ollie can twist her body around and around, it is so hard to hold her when she doesn't want you to. I have almost dropped her myself, several times. |
WOW all these kisses might be making me a little jealous... ;) Day 2 and he is fine. Still just sleeping alot. I have not put his toys out and probably won't for a couple days. So basically he is bored to death. He is not using his steps at all anymore.. he is scared. So I have pulled out the sofa bed and have planted myself with him since he got home.. I don't know if that is more for me then for him... lol But I send him your wishes and he give many many licks back :animal36 |
