Sleeping thru the night success stories!! It seems that a lot of Yorkies are late to bed/early to rise. I'm really hoping that one day my Sophie will be at 9pm-6am ish girl. Is that unreasonable? We have an active household and she will get plenty of attention and exercise. Right now she's getting up at 4 a.m. and I pray that her wakeup time will move forward until it becomes more reasonable. Please post if your Yorkie is a good sleeper! Sophie is only 10 weeks old, so we have a long way to go. I just want to see if there's light at the end of the tunnel :D |
Gus is a good sleeper now. He only wanted to sleep six and a half to seven hours at first. It took a few months but now he wakes up when I wake up. There is light at the end of the tunnel it's just hard to see when you're dog tired. :p Sorry, I couldn't resist. |
There is light at the end of the tunnel ... and it isn't a train!!! :) Although, I really can't remember at what age it happened .... seems like always ... but Toto just wants to be with us and whatever we are doing, sleeping, napping, etc., she just wants to do it too! She has her little "boosters" for getting up and down off the bed, sofa, etc. and goes to her wee wee pad and gets her own water like a big girl!! Sophie will eventually begin doing these things and she will learn your routine. Maybe it won't be long! ;) |
I have one pup thats 10 weeks and she sometimes still does her own sleep schedule. I have another one thats 15 weeks and hes on our sleep schedule. You will definitely be getting more sleep soon. You might wanna try to play with her later in the night to try to keep her up later. Good luck. |
sleeping success.. Max and Milo have slept all night from day one...Max is 5 months and Milo is 9 weeks old. They go to bed anywhere from 10-11 p.m. and they sleep until 7-8 a.m. the next morning with no whining or crying. It has been wonderful. :) (much better than when the kids were little) :D |
toby sleeps when we sleep, so........ like 11-10 and then naps during the day when we arent home |
Hefner is a great sleeper. He sleeps wirh me and will sleep as late as I do or get up early if I do. He will usually nap more if we get up early. I feel very fortunate. He is also independent and able toget up and down from the bed but he usually doesn't. |
My dogs are wherever I am. There are times when they wake me up (today at 9 am) but if I had wanted to crawl back into bed after potty and breakfast, they would have been right there with me. I of course, had to check Yorkie Talk though (see, you might be addicted to YT...) ;) Tia started being able to do this as soon as she really bonded to me, which I would say was about two weeks after we brought her home. She really just doesn't like it when I am out of her sight, so if I'm in bed, I think she just figures she might as well sleep too! :D The kids on the other hand... ;) |
We got Oscar at 6 weeks and he slept thu the night about two weeks after that. But, no matter what time we go to bed, he is always up by 6:30. Sometimes he sleeps with us and sometimes on the couch, but either way, he gets us up by 6:30 every day...gone are the days of sleeping late! Oscar will be 7 months old this month and is basically house broken, if we listen when he tells us he has to to. He is trained to go outside, so we have to go with him. We free feed Oscar and don't take his food or water up before he goes to bed. Maybe if we did that, he would not rise so early, but who knows. I just get up and take him out...it is not for show, he really has to go. Debbie - Oscar's Mom |
Avery is 4 months old, and he's been on our schedule for a couple of weeks. Sometimes he even wants to go to bed BEFORE us........probably to get away from the kiddos ;) He also, like some of the earlier posts, wants to be with me all of the time, so I guess that helps alot too. Your sweet little one will be on schedule before you know it! |
WOO HOO! I've seen the light! The past 2 nights, Sophie has slept 8-9 hours. I feel like I have an infant, trying to keep her up later so that she'll sleep more soundly and later. :) I think that she's too excited to take an early evening nap because the kids are home and there's so much activity. If I could get her to nap a little, she could stay up a little later instead of going to bed at 8:30 ish!! Thanks for all the input :) |
