What Should I Tell My Breeder To Give Me I am getting my Yorkie today!!! ..what should I ask the breeder to give me (information-wise, papers-wise, etc)?? Thanks, a hopeful but clueless future-puppy-owner |
With my pup - I got some papers - showing the shots he had had - his birthdate - the fact that he could be registered, a receipt for my payment, etc, etc.... And - they also gave me a ton of stuff regarding taking care of my new pup with instructions to call them anytime 24/7 if I needed help. (I'm sure I forgot a lot that they gave me.) It was several weeks later that I received the actual papers I needed to register my dog. They were filled out by the breeder with the parents names, #'s, and other information. I had to fill out the rest of these papers - the registered name I wanted my pup to have, my name, address, etc. --- write a check to pay the registration fee - and send them in. Weeks later, I received the actual papers showing that my dog was registered. Carol Jean |
i came home with an AKC application for registration signed by the breeder and then sent it in on my own to receive the actual papers with the names i had chosen. i also received a form from the vet saying what shots had been given. make sure you know exactly what the puppy has been eating and stay with that until he is settled in (even if you want to gradually change in later). Congratulations. |
Make sure you get the food she was being feed and but some Nutrical. Good luck!! |

A really nice thing that I got when I brought Reuger home was a picture of Reuger's mother and father with the breeder. It was a Christmas card that she had sent the year before, but I've looked at it several times to check size and coloring. A very nice touch, I thought. If you're going to pick up your puppy you might want to take a camera and get a picture of the mother and father if they're there. |
