do you leave you harness on 24hrs??? i was wandering if it's safe to leave a harness on your baby all day. romeo's id tag is attached and i usually put it on in the morning and take it off before we go to bed. i'm afraid to let him out without his id tag in case he gets out. when he's home alone i take it off. my mom leaves her harnesses on her babies 24/7. what do u do???? |
i only put my kiddos harness's when we are going out.... for one they look very unconfortable with them on while they are playing(mommy's a softie) and two I wouldn't want them to hurt themselves if left on... it's like us girls... we don't wear our bras to go to bed....... it gets very tiring.....LOL |
I leave a collar with id tags on my 3 all the time 24/7 and only put their harnesses on when they go for walks. They are also microchipped and tatooed |
I have collars for all of them..... and the harness goes on and off when we go out! But my friend who has 4 PUGS keeps their harnesses on for 24/7. But I prefer not to..... |
Gucci wears her harness only when we are going for a walk. She wears a brakeable collar with her id tag 24/7. |
Simon and Hallie are naked indoors. I only put their harnesses on when we are going outside to play or walk. On the weekends they usually have them on quite a bit since we are in and out all day! |
We only put it on for going out. Punkin is microchipped thpugh. I'm a paranoid person - I'm afraid her harness would get caught on something when I wasn't around. |
No harness or collars unless we are going out so I'm very careful when anyone is coming in or out. We have members that lost their babies because their collar or harness got caught. :( |
it\'s a hard decision to make. i think if someone finds your lost yorkie and he has an address tag their first instinct is to do what is right and call you, but if they have to wait to get a microchip read, watch for a poster or wait for a lost ad to appear then they get attached to the dog and then we all know what generally happens then. i also think a harness is probably safer to leave on than a collar. i, personally, don\'t leave mine on, but i\'m usually home with them and i don\'t have kids running in and out. |
nope, only when he goes out . . I\'d hate for him to end up chewing whatever is hanging or perhaps the harness itself. |
Only when were outside. I am worried becasue the weather is getting nicer and she is starting to try and bolt out the door. I have warned my husband and dtr to make sure Cali is no where near the door when they open it. Cali was spayed at an er hospital and they don\'t microchip so she wasn\'t microchipped and they couldn\'t pull all her baby teeth she retained. |
I only put on her harness for walks. She wears a collar during the day when we are home, with her tag on. If I put her in her ex-pen when we go out I take it off. The last thing I do at night before we got to sleep is take off her collar and give her a neck rub! When she was smaller, she hated having her harness on and off,so I used to leave it on a while at th weekends, but she has got better now-she loves her walks so much. |
We leave them on during the day because they have to be taken out on a leash for potty breaks. But honestly I wouldn\'t leave them on any longer than completely necessary |
Oscar wears his harness to go out. I used to leave it on all the time til he chewed all the buckles off of it! I had to cut it and sew the straps down...so now it is not adjustable. I need to get Oscar a breakaway collar to put his tags on. I put them on his harness but he does not wear it all the time and he is not microchipped. Plus when he wore the harness all the time, he matted under his legs where the harness rubbed. |
I dont leave their harnesses on them and I dont have collars on because I am afraid it will hurt their trachea. I always worry that they dont have their tags on but I dont know what I can do about that. They are both microchipped though. |
