does your yorkie does your yorkie always act high strung? i feel like my little one can never really seem to calm herself except for at night in bed when all the lights are off. is this a major thing with all yorkies or will she grow out of it? she is 6 months right now. if she is laying and hears one tiny ity bitty nose shes up on her feet barking like a mad dog. please let me know if your yorkie acts the same. thanks |
Nope Lex isn't that high strung. He does have his playtime but not like your little lady there. He is also not a huge barker. Good luck... |
At my house we prefer to call that....busy. Ramsey is very very busy and too nosey to miss anything  |
Kiki is very busy also. He wants to play 24/7. He is 7 months old and would like outside in the backyard if I let him. |
My girl barks at noises too and at people who come in the house until she sees they are family.she has just turned 6 months. She has calm times too, especially after a big walk. I call her my good watch dog! |
Coco doesn't really bark, but she's like the energizer bunny, she's 1 years old. But she is enjoying more quiet time on occasion than she used to. I don't think they FULLY grow out of it but little bit at a time they do. |
Katy is definity high strung. We walk about 5 miles in the evening and go to the puppy park on Saturday and Sunday. At the park she is the one to get all of the other dogs running. She loves it. During the week after our walks she will rest for about 15 minutes then she is ready to play ball again. (I should mention that we have been walking since I got her last summer, so its part of her routine) She is home by herself during the day Mon-Thur (Daddys home with her on Fridays). I go home and have lunch with her everyday. I believe part of her high energy comes from being at home by herself during the day. |
Zoe always wants to play, every minute of everyday but he will get the point when I ignore him. Never wants to stop but I love him. I hope he grows out of this but not completely. We love our yorkies and always want to play with them but sometimes its too much and I feel bad when I don't. |

thats exactly how i feel. my little one wants to play all of the time, and when i do not play with her she goes on her bed and glares at me. i feel as though i am mistreating her. glad to see im not alone. thanks |
Gucci has play times and calm times. If Imlaying down she usually lays by me. SO I guess Im lucky. When she wants to play non stop my kids play with her. I think she has calm down a bit, she is going to be 2 in july. |
I wouldn't call my pup "high strung." He certainly does play a lot - like all puppies do, but he also spends a lot of time just lying around....and sleeps a lot. Carol Jean |
Tucker does bark at the drop of a hat. He can be sound asleep and if he hears a tiny little sound he is up and on guard. The thing that makes me wonder about him is that he is skittish. I was just saying tonight that we should have named him "Spooky" because he gets Spooked so easily. If he is sitting there and I reach over to pet him he jumps. When Sherry Lynn was over she kept trying to give him loves and he would duck out from under her hand. It drives me nuts! He acts like someone beat him or something. |

I think the old saying is a tired puppy is a good puppy. Rowdy was never highstrung at all, but he and Rexy sure play alot now and Rowdy asks us to play with him less and less and he and Rexy get more attached to each other. |
