4months and still not trained i have had alexander now for 2 months. we are training him to go outside to use the bathroom instead of the pottiepads. the first month he was doing great, then this last week he's been doing it in our house. i know they don't like wet grass, so we would take him to the gravel, but he would still wait until we went inside. when he does it inside, do you punish him? because we haven't,we've been just taking him to the door and showing him the door. |
this is an area of controversy........ IMO i think you should do what works for you, as for me..... i do punish him when he did "bad"..... i am changing tactics though, i use the pee pad method and right now he is in his "rebellious" stage and is currently peeing and pooping on my fiances clthes, SO.... since it is warmer weather (hehe, warmer weather in cali) i have put the pee pad outside and if he doesnt use it then he is going to STAY outside on the balcony (enclosed) until he gets it right :p (jk) but seriously i do yell at him and it does the trick |
My babies go potty on the pads and outside, and they both love the wet grass it's so funny to watch them on the grass... doesn't take much to get their hair all wet from the wet grass, also my male when the sprinklers come on omg he tries to bite the water he jumps like he's on a trampoline. LOL |
I would be VERY patient because some are very STUBBORN:( I have 2 yorkies,Jess is a year old and perfect it the potty area, but Lady is 17 months old and drives me crazy..lol.She will NOT use her pads at all:( If you find a solution, please share;) I have tried everything humanely possible and a year later we are still cleaning poops and pees. |
one year later and still not trained. oh no, i hope alexander gets it by then. today everytime he gets up he does it, he even did it on my pants while i was holding him. i'm hoping he is just marking his mark and when he gets fixed next week, he'll do better |
Tia is four months, almost five. And I am having a horrible time potty training, although the last two days have been much better. I use the pee-pads, though - we have a lot of birds of prey around here so I don't feel comfortable letting her out back much. What I've started doing is putting a pee-pad in every room in the house, when she does her business on the pad, I praise and treat her like crazy after putting her next to the pee. When she does it one the floor, I take her to it, say no in a low voice and clean it up. SO far this is working better for me (knock on wood) |
