Need some advice on getting another. Okay so here is the deal. I am going with a friend of mine to look at some yorktese puppies. We are going to the same person I got mine from. She has three females colored like yorkie some with white feet and she has three males colored like Astro. The more I think about it the more I want to get a female. They will be ready to go on monday. I have a yorkie cosmo and a yorktese astro both males and I really want a female. My bf is getting a new puppy at the end of may so we will have a full house if I get another. I just dont know what to do, I am torn. I need all the advice I can get on this. Thanks. |

Is there an ordinance or anything against having so many dogs, where you live? A lot of cities have them, but a lot of people just ignore the too. I'd be the type to ignore them. LOL The catchin' comes before the hangin'. |
I would say if you can afford it, do it!! :D You wanted a female from the beginning so you are probably always going to want a little girl puppy. So my vote is to go for it!!! :thumbup: :woof: :Puppy2: :yorkiesar |
I have the money, I am just not sure though. Is it hard to handle three of them. As far as taking for walks and stuff? |
Just remember they can easily live 14 years or more and you have to decide can you handle 3 dogs and children down the road (if you decide to have children). It is also much harder to find places to live with 3 dogs than 2 dogs. Your decision has to be made for a lifetime of the dogs. Money is an issue for everyone if the dog becomes very ill and you have to spend thousands of dollars. Personally I think you have a lifetime ahead of you and you can have a female down the road but you already have 2 and your bf is going to have one so you already will have 3. One other thought - if all 3 dogs are about the same age as they grow older the vet bills will grow all at the same time then there is the sad fact all 3 would start passing over to the rainbow bridge at the same time. As an responsible adult you really have to think about these things and where you will be for the next number of years. There are many things all of us want but this is a living, breathing little creature and you have to think about them first. Food for thought. |
my family went from one yorkie to three yorkies and for the most part it isn't a problem at all. however, i use to take my yorkie everywhere with me, but taking three is just too much so i usually leave all at home. They are all small so i don't even notice the extras in bed at night. When my mom comes to visit with her two it really does get a little hectic though. i'm fortunate in that i don't have to worry about landlords or the costs, but it is definitely more expensive to care for three and harder to take them with you for quick trips like to the bank and out of town trips. my one yorkie was always welcome when i travelled, but showing up with three seems rude. |

Yea I have the room. We live in a three bedroom house with a big fenced in back yard. |
As far as the walking goes you could get a doggie stroller. I also have a connecter for my 2 so I only have 1 leash but walk 2 dogs. It will take a little getting used to, but I'm very glad I got 2nd. Don't know how different 3 would be though. Good luck & let us know what you decide! :) |
WOW 3 and then 4 dogs!! Thats alot!! Go look at the puppies and if one REALLY touches then go for it! It's a big decision - you have the money, space and time. No doubt it will be hard work but if you want another, you want another so I support what ever u decide to do 100%. I have a feeling you're gonna go home with a puppy. Too irresistible. |
