blanket or a dog bed? I am thinking about driving to PA to visit Sylvan Yorkies family :) I am getting a pup in June, and try to visit before that. Anyway... my question is "which one should I bring? A blanket or a dog bed? So other dogs and pups can use it and when I get a pup, I can bring back this blanket or a dog bed with the pup." I want to make it as comfortable as possible for the pup. I bet it probably doesn't matter which one, but just the thought. Maybe a blanket is better so that I could put in the crate.... what do you think? Blanket... baby blanket is good? p.s. it would be fun to drive 6-7 hrs... I just got a license this month.. :) but I am practicing a lot .. :) |
We got a blanket froom Magic's mom that had her and the other pups smells on it .... and it was very helpful those first days and nights. In fact, Magic still sleeps with that blanket alot....although it has been washed many times now. Good luck with your trip and new pup! |
I am so glad you are getting a puppy soon. I would bring a blanket. |
Blanket for sure. That way if it gets too stinky ;) the breeder can wash it, or if someone has an accident on it...you never know :D |
blanket.. so I should get a baby blanket? |
Ya just something that is comfie and smells like him mommy :) When my parents went away and I was "dog sitting" their dog slept every night on my moms sweatshirt - well with her head on the sweatshirt, she didn't fit all the way on it...she is a newfie ;) |
I took a blanket and it worked for Parker!!! I also took a stuff animal and it worked for a while, then all he wanted to do was hump it, so I took it out!! |
Receiving blankets are a "must" for new pups. ;) I'd go to WalMart or some store similar and buy a few "receiving" baby blankets! They're soft and have some REALLY CUTE patterns and are cheap. So if he messes them you can opt to wash them or simply throw them away. Once he's home I'd get an oversized bed for him, my experience is that Yorkies like to root around and check out all the little crevesis of the oversized bedding and have a ball doing so! And THEN you can get real fancy, one you know he likes his bedding and get some real posh blankets for him to lounge on. jm2c |

I would get a blanket and maybe even two or cut the one into two pieces- that way if you have to wash it due to accidents, you will have one piece still with the scent on it for a while longer. whada ya think? |
Michiko...Recieving blankets from walmart!! Also, you can get a soccor or footbal pillow to take!! |
Michiko, Little Haku will leave here with a doggie bandana and a little stuffed toy that smells like us, along with an assortment of other goodies, but you are welcome to bring a blanket or bed or whatever you like. We'll be happy to smell it up for you. |
Good to hear.. Stacy.. no no Haku!!! Haru :) Haku means sweep the floor or wear shoes, and I wouldn't want that :D I think I go with Haruka.. Spring Fragrance... :) |

LOL! I was having a freudian slip...Cindy sweeps the floor with hers so what's the problem? Haruka is pretty. |
A blankee...I mailed off one to our breeder several weeks ago. We pickup Jill tomorrow and will bring the blankee home with us. That's my vote. :aimeeyork |
