Dolce is getting spayed today And I am a NERVOUS WRECK. I know that it is a common procedure, but I can't help but be the paranoid mommy. To make matters worse, I had a HORRIBLE nightmare last night that she was dead and I just can't shake it. I've been crying all morning! I'm on pins and needles waiting to hear from the vet.... In the meantime, I was wondering if anyone had any tips or suggestions for when I bring her home? Or things to watch for that might indicate a complication. Thanks! I'm going to go look at the picture section to help distract me..... |
sweetie, just stay calm ok, i know how you feel, your baby will just be fine. probably groggy when she gets home. just stay by her and watch her. by tomorrow she will be running around... dont let her jump, she probably wont anyway. try to keep her still.... it will be ok. |
Thank you for your kind words! I'm just wondering if it was a mistake to have her fixed on a Tuesday, instead of a Friday before the weekend. I work full time and can't take tomorrow off of work (unless it was an emergency and I absolutely had to). I really hope that she'll be ok just resting at home... |
Hope you've heard back from the vet and your baby is doing just fine. She will be groggy, particularly if you are picking Dolce up today. I had a similar nightmare before I took Sissy in, but she came out great. Tomorrow she will be back to pretty normal, though they will suggest you restrict her from running, jumping and stairs. Didn't work for Sissy, but you never know. You will most likely be given pain medication also - do use it for Dolce. You will know she is well on the mend if she is eating and drinking normally. Watch her incision site for swelling that is red, and/or bleeding. I'm sure Dolce will be fine, but we'll keep you in our prayers anyway. |
everything will be just fine :) hugs |
I was in the same boat just yesterday Aggie was spayed yesterday and I was TOTALLY nervous. My vet was excellent though. He answered a lot of my questions, before and after the rocedure. I took a day off today to stay with her. She's been totally fine, still running around like her normal self. I completely understand how you feel. Don't worry, she'll be fine. |
Hi! She will be groggy tonight, but tomorrow get the toys out, it's back to play time!!!! I'm sure she will be full of kisses when you get home! :2hearts2: |
I just heard from the vet. They said she is recovering from the anesthesia. Phew! They did say she was her usual fiesty/spunky self and fought having the catheter put in....LOL! It seemed weird to me that they would do that prior to putting them under....is there a reason for that? Ugh...I can't wait to go get her! And cuddle her! I was SOOOO worried! |
