sirius and the vaccume wars everytime i start vaccuming sirius fights the vaccume. at first it was funny, now it has become a problem. as soon as the vaccume starts my once sweet baby turns into a monster. barking biting going wild. so i started to put him in his kennel. well everything in the kennel paid. he tore up his pillow and toys and was still biting when i took him out. he is at war with the vaccume. i even have to hide it when it is not on because he fights it then too. anyone else have this problem. what did ya'll do to stop it. thanks for all the help |
Mo attacks the vacuum also and I too thought it was funny/cute at first. He is 4 years old now and still does it, so I have no help to offer you. I have to sternly say his name and he backs off for a few minutes. Then when I turn it off, change rooms, start it up again.....Mo's back. I have 5 others that would just rather leave the room if the vacuum is out, but for some reason Mo has an issue with it and has tried to kill it over and over again. I have to laugh and kind of feel sorry for him, because no matter what he tries, that darn vacuum continues to live. Kim |
cant help you here sorry........ toby is afraid of teh vacume |
I think if you can catch the dog whisper on National geographic channel you maybe can learn an approach that may help. I don't know about cable but it comes on satalite channel 246. :p |
Maybe start with the vaccumm(sp?) off and take him up to it and be calm and give him treats when he approaches it rationally. Then when he is calm with it off and moving, try turning it on, and just take him closer a little at a time as. I have no clue if this will work but it's what I do with horses when they are irrational with things and it's what i would do with Pita if she had a problem with like that. |
well had to vaccume and he tried to kill it again. my 5 year old daughter thinks he is protecting his family from the evil cleaning machine. he sees it and then he is almost on top of it. barking and growling and biting the darn thing. the dog whisper sounds like a good idea. here it comes on at 10.30 everyday. i watch it all the time. it has really helped when working with our bernese. ( he used to shake his head all the time. guess i just have dogs with weird ticks.) :animal-sm |
