Worlds Smallest Yorkie
 

Tiny Pinocchio, a steel blue and tan 1-year-old Yorkshire terrier, tips the scales, if you could call it that, at an even 1 pound. He is 8 inches long, stands 4.5 inches tall at his shoulder, and fits comfortably in a baseball cap.

Oh gosh.... that is horrible... I would never do that .... that is just cruel what she is doing, he doesn't owe her anything... How could she say that?

OMG he's so tiny!! And to put him in a birdcage? Something doesn't sound right here. Poor little boy. Why would someone deliberately hope to put such a tiny boy in the spotlight? I think a life of fame would be too stressful for such a tiny little body but that's just my opinion.

I can't believe how small he is. I think it's sad she is using him for her own fame!

I can't believe that she is a breeder! Doe she not understand what she will do to this dog if she exposes him to all that she mentioned. Unbelieveable~~~This little cutie will no way make it to be 15 years if she exposes him like that...I am speechless!

Little Noki passed away some time ago. Poor little baby. I think he died from hydrocephalus.

I don't know the cause of death, but that article is date 2003 and Noki was 1. He passed away at 2 years old. Personally I thought his face was alittle wierd looking.....

WOW!! That is crazy! I'd be curious as to what sort of health problems that little guy has faced?

bless his little heart. Thats so sad that she wanted to use him as her ticket out! Thats selfish. My babies get nervous when they get attention from strangers sometimes. And they are not anywhere near that size. I could not imagine how scared he was going to all those shows, and things. May his little sweet spirit rest in peace!

Poor dog...he is a living creature not the eighth wonder of the world!

that lady was using him for her own selfish reasons! :mad: imagine how a regular dog would react to being on oprah with blinding lights and a large crowd cheering. then imagine this tiny thing! the poor dog would probably have a heart attack right then and there! and she calls herself a breeder. hmph!

That is just too sad!!!!

I am not really surprised about this story . What peoples will do for $$$$$$ ?

Well, she didn't breed two tiny Yorkies to get him. The parents were normal sized. He was just a sick little boy. Poor thing. :(

It's heartbreaking to see a "breeder" (and I use that term loosely) do this to one of her babies. She wouldn't need a "ticket out" of her life if she got a job! I hope that poor little tyke is at peace.

OMG....sooo tiny and so sad to hear that he lives in a birdcage :( and being used to make money!!! :mad: Poor baby :( rest in peace lil angel.

I didn't read all the posts. In my opinion he wasn't bred from a "tiny" or bred to be "tiny". He was a runt that was prayed over and survived. He got a lot of attention when out and made the newspaper eventually. The woman had an invalid husband and I honestly believe was just hoping to have another "Mr. Winkle" (I think that is the dog's name). He has calendars and T-shirts and has made TV talk shows....all proceeds are donated. However, this woman was in a position and needed money. I honestly don't believe she'd do anything to hurt this tiny little baby that she nurtured and loved. If you have ever tried to get one of those little tiny skinny buggers to survive, you'd know that it forms a very special bond. The bird cage thing....I think that was just a personal decision on her part where to keep him....it is made out of the same materials many of us keep our babies in (crate....x pen)...just a lot smaller. I wouldn't do it. I just want to say that I think she thought she saw her chance to get out of the red when her baby got public attention. The only part I don't believe is that he was healthy and given such a clean bill from the vet. If he didn't have those crazy eyes and was atleast 2-3 pounds bigger, I think he would have been gorgeous.

THAT IS CRAZY!! I'm glad that the owner tried so hard to keep him alive however I'm not too comfortable about him sleeping in a birdcage on the table.

:( This is soooo sad. He has what you call "sunset eyes", babies with hydrocephalus have the same symptoms. This is where you can see the whites in the top to the upper, inner corners of the eye due to the swelling of the brain pushing the actual eyeball downward. The high pitched "canary sound" she said he makes is also a classic symptom. Babies have a high pitched shrill sounding cry. Its obvious he had this in the picture on th website. Bless him and may he rest now in painless peace.

she should be banned from becoming a breeder; i am sure she went through great lengths just to produce a little yorkie like that.
