Yorkie Smiles!! I was just curious how many yorkies smile like my Sophie. I have yet to get a good picture, but when we have been gone for awhile and come home or someone comes to visit she gets so excited she smiles. I mean literally she smiles. She shows all her teeth and dances around on her hind legs. I wondered if any other yorkie parents experience this. It is the cutest thing ever. I hope to get a good picture of it someday!! Does your yorkie smile? :D LET ME SEE YOUR GRILL!! :D :D :D :D |
I have a couple of pics of Daisy smiling! When I get off work and get home I promise to post them...its so cute! |
1 Attachment(s) OH YES. Chanel smiles ALL THE TIME. She knows to do it when we say - Let's see your smiley face and she also does an Elvis Impersonation This is the ONLY picture I actually caught of her smiling - in person - you can see EVERY SINGLE TOOTH - top and bottom and it's just hilarious and floors me everytime she does it. It's my ALL TIME Favorite trick she does....I never get tired of seeing her smile and she knows JUST how to use it to her advantage lol This was 2 years ago and the first Week she learned/started smiling..... |
kirby always has a grin on his face and everyone tells me they have never seen a dog who smiles. |
I started a thread on this a while back, and it seems to be a yorkie trait. Ollie is still a puppy, so no smiles yet but both of my other yorkies smiled. |
Dezi smiles and her whole body shakes. Her tail shakes really fast and she like dances around when someone comes in, especially when they baby talk to her. I ask people not to pick her up when she is doing this because she can easily slip and fall off their hands. She looks so cute doing her welcome dance. :animal-pa |
Villette, that picture is the greatest and that is exactly what I'm talking about!! It doesn't matter how bad of a day I've had, when she smiles at me it all goes away. We also say Smile Sophie and she sometimes will. I also wondered if it was a yorkie trait. Now talk about something to study genetically!!! And while I'm here might I add Villette that your yorkies are the cutest and you really keep them groomed just lovely. I have admired them ever since I started lurking here. Lurking, that kind of makes me sound like a stalker or something. Well, you know what I mean. I hope to capture a picture like yours someday. |
I'm so jealous! (And I've said this on so many other posts with smilie pictures :D ) How the heck do you get them to do that??? :D :animal36 :) |

and BabyFidgette...Chanel actually did it on her own but I worked with her to know the word SMILE and now she will do it when asked....but she learned by doing the same thing as above - just being so happy when I walk in the door - she smiled one day and I went crazy laughing. Another trick is to say the word SMILE...look directly into their eyes & gently lift the corners of the mouth ....they're susposed to learn that way too...but I have yet to teach this to Cheri lol - |

i've seen pics of chanel, and she has the cutest little facial expressions! is it chanel who has the pouting face or cheri? |
I am convinced smiling is genetic. Remi (my parti boy) smiles especially when he is in trouble. His mother was a smiler. NOW, Alex, Remi and Chrystel's gorgeous boy has started smiling. Just let me catch him doing a naughty and he will smile up a storm. Neither boy smiles much for their daddy, though.. |
I've seen moose do it once, but lil bear has been a smiler every since we saw her at 2 weeks old. |
Mercedes has quite an odd way of smiling or getting your attention specially when company arrives. She will sit on your lap, look right into your face smile and then ram her muzzle into yours wanting to lick it ....at least she smiles first:) she wants what she wants when she wants it all the while thinking she can get it with a mere smile and a kiss:) |
V--that pict of Chanel just cracks me up! Too cute! |
