Beefhide VS Rawhide??? Hey everyone! i'M CURIOUS- IS "BEEFHIDE" THE SAME AS RAWHIDE? I bought some second nature dog litter today (which is a story in itself with the stupid checkout girl... arg....) :p and there was a sample of purina beefhide chew sticks. I know the concerns about rawhide (so Oliver never gets any) but I was wondering what "BEEFHIDE" was.... could someone give me the 411? hehe that would be great! Thanks!!!! :) :) |
Yes - I think they usually are the same thing because Smith&Foster advertise that their Rawhide bones are made from Beefhide. Carol Jean |
I have let my dogs and my pup chew on the rawhide/beefhide sticks. I can see where they could cause problems - but when they get soft near the end, I have always cut that part off with the scissors and throw it away. They sure do like to chew on these - however, I have had the same bag of them for almost two years now - so, they aren't chewing very fast!!! Carol Jean |

I give rawhide to my two especially the grounded rawhide sticks. I just throw them away when they get too chewed up. They love them and I havent had any problems. |
