Chicken soup doggie food. Hey I just bought that chicken soup dog food..do alot of you use it on here. I thought i'd give it a try. I'd been feeding Eukanuba but with tasha having her seizure and all i thought maybe I should try something better. Is this better for them or did i just waste my money? |
Chicken Soup is one of the better dog foods. I tried my dogs on it and for some reason they wouldnt eat it very good but they are extremely picky. Alot of other people on here feed it to their dogs though. |
Chicken soup is made by Diamond pet foods so I wouldn't feed it to my dogs if it were the last food on the planet. |

I was told it was really good so thought i'd try it. |
I use it also. They love it and it is good for them.  |
My yorkies all eat the Chicken soup also. Chicken soup was not recalled.I e-miled Diamond and they said it was from the corn in the other foods and the Chicken soup does not have corn in it. I am switching mine just because my Petmart is no longer going to carry it because they have not sold much since the recall. They said you could special order but I am just going to switch. Faith |
I've been feeding my 2 yorkies Chicken soup for almost a year. Chicken Soup was not included on the recall, I watched VERY closely during that scare because I certainly wouldn't want to put my babies at risk. The recall had to do with some tainted corn products. Corn is not an ingredient in these products. If so, my dogs wouldn't be able to eat it. They have a sensitivity to corn. Chicken Soup is the only thing I've been able to get my persnickety little things to eat consistently. Even then, sometimes I have to mix a little cottage cheese in it for my male who is the worst offender. I have every confidance in the product and know that my dogs are eating the best that I can provide and that they will eat. Look at the ingredients list and you'll know. If you feed canned/moist you'll be able to see it-chunks of carrot, peas, potato. For questions about the product, google it and get on it's website. There's a wealth of info there as well as a product locator. Good Luck |
I am aware that Chicken Soup was not in the recall. I do not care for the company of Diamond. I also do not feed Iams/Eukenuba because of the animal testing that they do to their animals in their labs. :( It is sad that animals are harmed or killed by these large companies and no one seems to care. |
Have any of you tried the 'Royal Canin' called Mini Yorkshire 28? It is suposed to be good for their coat and tartar. I purchased a small bag after reading about it in a Yorkshire magazine. They seem to really like it. I  found it at petsmart. |
To each their own..... Tashasmom...... I feed Chicken Soup to my girls and they love it!!! I feel very good about it! I tried them on Merricks after reading rave reviews here, I thought they would like a bit of variety....and they would have nothing to do with it! Pixie snubbed it 100%! Paris gobbled up the Chicken Soup the minute she got home.... I guess all that stress of the flight from Ohio was not enough for her to resist the Call of CS!!! And the transition was not gradual... it was last meal at Lindas.... brand ? ... and every meal after that Chicken Soup! lol No mixing! no upset stomach, no side effects what so ever. I'm a fan! |

I love the Royal Canin for Yorkies! My baby has skin allergies to alot of foods that I tried Royal canin is the only thing I found that doesn't make her skin dry and flakey and make her itchy. I dive 2 hrs one way to get the Royal Canin and it is worth every minute! :aimeeyork |

I had my dogs on the Royal Canin Yorkshire brand and they tried to scratch their skins off (one of the first ingredients in RC is CORN). I switched to the Diamond because it has the fatty omega 3 acid in it (great for coat and skin) and the change was remarkable. They no longer itched and they have shiny (not dull) coats. Royal Canin also had a recall of some of it's pet foods. Death from kidney failure occured as a result of an error in the vitamin formula. But, let's think about this...once a problem is found like with Diamond, they know how to properly test the foods. Same as RC. They found the vitamin error and you can rest assure that mistake will not happen again. These two foods are probably the safest on the market to date. There is NOT a perfect dog food out there. I've been saying we YT members need to get together and formulate/market a dog food! Wouldn't that be awesome!!!! |
Also, Chicken Soup was recommended to my mom (she has a maltese) as a deterrent for tear stains. It does not contain beet pulp which is a plus and something that many dog foods have. |
