Anyone have this problem?  I don't know if this is happening because it's springtime, but my guy keeps sniffing and eating grass and flowers instead of peeing and pooping when he gets walked. I keep pulling him away and saying "No!" but he persists! I wind up bringing him inside after about 20 minutes. |
Nope, not a problem here. Bailey has no issues going potty outside. We have a huge fenced in backyard, so he's used to going potty outside. But then again, the walks we go on are usually 45min-1 hour long walks, so he has more than enough time to go potty.... |
Lexy does the same thing and then poops and pees in the house right after she comes in! We're going to seriously start crate training this weekend. I've been putting it off until the weather looks like it will stay warm. :D |
What kind of leash are you using? I noticed that when Archie had the holster, he would just go off, but when I started using the regular leash around his neck, he'd stay to my side...I'm going to find out if other people have this problem. Stay tuned for my next post... |
Annabelle likes to eat the grass too. The vet said it is their way of getting rid of belly aches. Sometimes she will get sick after. I harness is a much better leash for dogs, their vocal cords are so sensitive that they can be damaged easily from pulling an a regular collar. When I was a Vet Tech we would have dogs come in that couldn't bark anymore or were coughing all of the time. Eating Grass wont hurt them, unless it has been treated chemically, usually they just need to clean out their system. Has you rs been checked for worms lately, that is sometimes a sign that they have them. Good luck |
Mojo does the same think..but only eats grass in my backyard...i donnou what's up with that...i am thinking he was raised with bunnies:D |
leash I walk Jackson on a regular leash. He also added a new thing to his repetoire, he rolls around on his back in the grass. Weird. |
Jackson sounds just like Oscar! If Oscar sees anything that does not resemble grass, he has to taste of it. Tiny daisies, dandelions and sticks are all fair game. We have been in Florida for a month now in the RV and he loves going after the palm fronds and bark that might have fallen...I walk him in a harness, so a tiny yank and a "no" gets him moving again...he is really fast tho, so I have to really watch him...also I have had to watch him with the fire ant beds down in Florida...they can be bad news for these babies as well. Oscar tastes the goods, but always does his business outside...most of the time anyway...LOL Oscar's Mom - Debbie |
Grass....yummy! Sully loves to munch on the grass while he's out there. We think it must be a spring thing too b/c he has never done that before (he was born last August). Anyway, I don't think it's really anything to worry about, (unless there's pesticides on the grass or something?) My cat does the same to any plant I bring into the house....including fake ones. Silly pets of mine! Sully knows the command "go pee pee" - which to him means both, so when/if he's eating grass or meandering around the yard, we will tell him to "go pee pee, Sully!" and he'll go about his "business." |
