Ignorant collar/harness/clothes question.... I understand that constantly wearing a collar poses a choking danger. But are doggy clothes not the same kind of hazard? If not....is there anyone that clips their doggie's id (tags or whatever) to their clothes, in case they run out of the house or something? I was looking at the little dresses and vests with the D rings that double as harnesses, thinking that this might be at least an option? Related/unrelated question: exactly how do those clothes WORK, as harnesses? If they are just closed with velcro, aren't some dogs able to pull out of them? |
My girls have harnasses with velcro and they dont pull out of them! My girls dont weigh very much though, so that could make a difference! |
i dont know but mine have collars all the time and we have never had a problem with them. i keep charms on them so we can hear them and not step on them (they are forever under foot). that is a good question though, i guess velcro would come off. |

Believe me, if a dog was ever to pull apart velcro, it would be my daughter's dog, Kirby. He pulls and pulls and no one can walk fast enough for him. I've used these harnesses for a long time and the only time they will let loose is if you don't secure them properly when you put it on the dog. Once I didn't have Maddie's neck part secured and she jumped right out of it, but that was my fault. I do clip ID tags to Maddie's harness dresses...just to be on the safe side. |
Connie, I was looking at the dresses you make. LOOOOVE them! And what a bargain. I have a feeling I'll be placing an order (when/if I finally ever get a dog! :p) This is sort of a sidebar, but maybe since I started the thread, it will be ok! :p I like the way that your dresses doesn't look as long and "tube-ish" in the body as others I've seen. Is this in fact a pattern difference, or just the way that they fit different dogs with different bodies? Back on topic....are snagging collars less of a worry for indoor dogs than they are outdoor dogs? |
