Do Your Furbabies Fight With You When You Try To Put Something On Them? Everytime I try to get ANYTHING on Baby, she fights me...biting, squiggling, etc. I try to put on a collar, harness, sweater, bow...and she HATES it! I've been putting things on her ever since I got her, but she still ain't hav'n it! I don't know what to do anymore! :tongue: Can you share your YT secrets with me...pretty please? :thumbs up Baby ain't no :angel: when it comes to look'n pretty! :D |

bunjee used to, but not anymore. 'cause he now knows when i put something on him, that means we get to go outside soon. so he'll stand still, let me dress him, the run for the door when i'm done. |
Rocky puts up fight when I put clothes on him still, but once there on he struts around the like he is mister big stuff. |
Of course. I have to wrestle with Jazzy everytime I try and put a bow on. If i'm putting on a sweater she'll try and bite that so I have to do it fast. The same thing with her harness. |
Jewels doesnt fight me but she hides when she sees me coming with one of her outfits. They get better with it the more times you do it. |
Starsky did at first but now he is so used to it he just sits there until I have it on. He also knows the difference between his harness and his shirts. He gets all excited after his harness is on because he knows we are going to go somewhere. |
Bailey, the service dog runs when he sees his vest or harness cuz he knows that means he has to work...but once dressed he prances. The other 3 pups don't seem to mind. |
Mine aren't fighters. They act a little confused but that's about it. Now, Gracie knows that when I get the harness out, she's going somewhere and she gets really excited. |
Ginger doesn’t mind at all, she just stands there. In fact, once the clothes are on she forgets about them entirely. But I try to be considerate of her comfort when I buy her clothes. She wears a lot of cotton Ts she can move easily in. I dress her on the kitchen island, so even if she were to make a fuss, there’s no were she can run. And most importantly, when it’s all over with she gets a treat. |
We used to give them a treat/cookie when they were good and let us put their clothes on and now they just let me do it with no much of a fight!! Plus they know if they are getting dressed it means they get to go bye bye with us, which they love to do!! Try to put something positive with getting dressed and hopefully she wouldn't fit as much!! |

Nikko practically jumps out of his skin with excitement when he sees his harness but he squirms so much that I can barely get it on. what works for me is that if he wiggles too much I tell him "forget it, no outside Nikko!" and make a show of putting his harness down. He actually whimpers when he thinks I'm not taking him outside and calms down enough to allow me to put it on him. Clothes are a different story. Its a total wrestling match but once the sweater or coat is on he forgets about it. :rolleyes: |
Daisy doesnt really mind anything, and Chloe really doesnt either unless it has velcro on it! She hates the noise of it and it scares her! |
My girls are nudists! I know that the 7 year old daughter of Dreama's former owner used to dress her up all the time. I have a little spangly shirt that Dreama gets all excited about when she sees it. She likes getting dressed. However, both she and Wosie run naked all the time. I have coats for them but it's rarely cold enough to wear them here. I don't have any problem getting harnesses on either of them. They love to go out! :p |

My pup gives me a hard time -- sometimes less - sometimes more. I think his fighting back depends on how good I am at getting things on quickly. He does want his harness on (he's so excited everytime he sees it) - but, if I don't get it on quickly on my first try - he's starts going bananas - I think he's just excited and in a hurry. He's fine with wearing clothes. He'll wear anything forever. Carol Jean |

As soon as Cookie sees me getting an outfit,harness or collar . He goes nuts!! He knows we are going out and he jumps on a chair and pushes his head through the shirt as soon as I try to put it over his head lol. He's 2 yrs old and he would wiggle a lot when he was like 4-6 months old. Lola is pretty good about getting dressed and lets me.
