If This Happens Again I Will Not Reply In A Nice Way I was headed to the mall to offer my topknot bows for sale. As I was walking toward the entrance another lady was going in with her chihuahua also. Then I have this heffer behind me and she has the guts to look at me and say "Oh, what's going on at the mall today everyone is bringing in their dogs. I said nothing, everyone brings their dogs in now a days. She then tells me "Well it used to be dogs weren't allowed in any stores". I then said well I always bring mine in and they are fine. Then she says "Well I guess they have to be small and be able to be carried or tucked in ". She goes " What about a Great Dane " , I said if that what you then bring it in so long as you can put it in your carrier or carry it in your hands. She finally shut up. Talk about someone rude and all up in my mix. I promise this was my last time with polite answers. If I get another smart a$@ like her they are in for a surprise. :mad: :thumbdown This heffer really pushed my buttons. |

LOL !!!! Tell her your yorkie isn't going to leave a HUGE PILE for her to step in ...but you'd be happy to see if Ruby Cupcake do a little one just for her if she needs to compare them :D I wouldn't bother with someone like that - there is always someone out there who won't like seeing that ....just as there are people who smile when they see that cute face. |
I love the way you explained to her that yes, if you can carry, or put a Great Dane into a carrier, you could conceivably, bring it into the mall. :rofl28ib: |

Large dog lovers need to get used to the idea that there are places that small dogs can go and the big dogs can't. There are apartments that allow dogs as long as you carry them through the common areas. Well I guess if you want to pack a great dane in and out on your back, then you can have one. |
I get asked the question " Oh! Do they allow dogs in here?' I look them straight in the face and reply.... "Probably not." and shrug my shoulders as I keep walking. Shine them on girls..... And guys! They obviously need to go find the "life" isle so they can go get one of their very own! |

Whatever! Don't let this bother you. Don't get defensive and don't be a smart alec! Just politely say: "I have brought my pup in here often and no one has ever said a word about it. If I was ever told by anyone (in charge) that I couldn't bring my pup in here - I certainly wouldn't. I don't know about different rules for different breeds, but I always try to follow the rules with my little dog." I think anyone would be hard put to continue criticizing you - if you're honest and polite. Sometimes I think we little Yorkie owners are so protective of our little pups that sometimes we go around with chips on our shoulders....just waiting for people to say "certain things." No need --- we should just try to present ourselves as nice, responsible, caring people. And, then after this, if people continue to be rude - let's just take our pups and go on our way. After all - when you're carrying a little dog - it's easier to make a friend than it is to make an enemy. Carol Jean |
if people spent half as much time minding their own business........as far as i am concerned if you are brave (stupid) enough to walk up behind someone and run your mouth (about something that is none of your business and i am not talking about an act like abuse or something that needs interference) then you had better be ready and able to take what is going to come at you...catch a person on the right day and at the right time it "ain't" going to be nice. :lightning there are too many really bad things going on in the world that people need to get involved with to worry about seeing a little dog in a persons arm going into a store. :questione |
I have to agree that I am over protective of my babies. But I don't think that being completely polite would always do the trick. There are many people out there that would take advantage of people who don't stand up to them. I think enough is enough. This woman was obviosly looking to push buttons. She needed to be told that she was crossing the line, and to keep her nose out of others business. |
My one question is why do we call overweight or plump people(as I politely put it) Heffers? I find it so hurtful. No one deserves to be called such a word. as for her I would have had a few words of my own to say as well. Rude people should just stick to the old rule. If you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all. and what I would add to that statement is "and if you do say something not nice expect the same back." |
