two questions What do you do with your yorkies when you go on holiday? I dont like the idea of putting one into a kenal, I dunno, maybe I should be more trusting. I dont go abroud often atall but I'm going to need something to do with my yorkie (if I get one) when I do. My second question is about general travelling. I dont even know if can take dog's on trains. Can you? Its not something I've ever thought about before but what modes of transport are applicable to yorkies? And do they mind travelling? I would love to take my yorkie to Wales, where I stay with dog owners who wouldnt mind an extra one running about, the problem is getting there (I dont drive). |
My mum looks after my Pippa when i go away :D As for dogs on trains im not sure...i know you can take them on the eurotunnel train if they stay in your car. |
here is a site that would help if you were to go on vaction on land.. http://petswelcome.com/milkbone/map.html I would call and find out if you can take your baby with you, all they can say is no! or check with one of your family members. or play dumb and put pippa i a carry-on and once the ship sets sail, there's pippa! :p good luck and enjoy you cruise.... |
they either go with me , or stay with a friend or close family member |
My yorkie loves traveling. I take her all over. She's a little one and I keep a Petote Bag in the car for when we have to sneak in somewhere. I got her four years ago though and the only time I ever left her was when I had free plane tickets. She stayed at my sister's but I missed her so much that I haven't left her since. When I tell people this, they always say, just take her with you, but the question is what will I do with her when I get there? My favorite trips were to the Carribbean and I just can't leave her in the room while scuba diving. Maybe you have friends or family members that you would trust to take care of your yorkie. Just call the rail line and see what their policy is on pets. |
People travel with their pets all the time so i'm sure that that can be done. If you can't have you ever thought of a doggy daycare? or a pet sitter? |
If you're happy to travel to Cambridgeshire, you could board your yorkie with my breeder who offers boarding at a small fee. They're a family of Yorkie nuts (they have 15!) and all are kept under foot in their home (not cages). Let me know if you want her details, and I'll pm you them. She's a doll and she absolutely dotes on this breed and has an excellent line in pedigrees too if you're interested in a great pup. She's a show breeder and her dogs are gorgeous and very healthy :) And yup, dogs are allowed on trains in britain. We carry Badger but we take a carrier for him when we go down to Devon so he has somewhere for a little kip if he needs it. All British Rail and suburban train services are totally fine with dogs so you'll be able to take your baby to Wales no problem (but take a carrier anyway with some of it's bedding, toys, etc. and don't forget to include water, food and so on...) |
All mine goes with us...I have too many to kennel if I would which I would not. |
