Parker is addicted to Mommy Well Parker is growing up fast he is a whole 14 weeks old and I must say he is addicted to me. I love it but sometimes it drives he crazy.. He has two crates. One in the family room and one in our bedroom. We had to do this because at night he would bark and whine the whole night. My hubby had the idea to put a crate by our bed. Well it worked except if i get up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night he goes nuts....... and of course wakes up Lexi (my 20 month old daughter - who wont go back to sleep) If he cant see me it drives him crazy. After several nights of holding my pee.... (and about to burst) I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas. I love all the attention. But sometimes a girl just has to pee. hahaha |
Ollie is 14 weeks also. After about a week of listening to her cray at night, in the crate. I took the door off of her crate but still left it in the laundry room. Now she only cries right when I put her to bed, but only for a minute. she likes the crate, but hated to be closed in. |
So Parker can be a little stinker, huh? He is so cute, he could get away with it. I wish I had some advice for you! I only had trouble with Maddie the first few nights I had her and after tjat. if I got up to go to the bathroom, she'd just keep sleeping. I wonder if you should crate him in the family room at night and maybe play a radio for him. Would it work to cover his crate? I suppose he'd still hear you though. Gosh...I wish I could help...hopefully someone else will have some ideas! Parker...be a good boy and let Mom go pee pee! |
Dezi does the same thing. If I get up to use the bathroom, she gets up. What I've been doing lately is getting up and taking her with me to the bathroom ( I know it sounds crazy) so she does not disturb anyone else. After I am done, I put her back in her crate and she falls asleep again. :animal-pa |
Bella's crated next to my bed and at first, she'd cry and whine every time I went to the bathroom. It drove my SO nuts!!! We ignored it and continued w/the norm routine (me getting up to pee) and after a week or two, it stopped. She'll look up but she seems to "remember" that I'm just going for a minute and then I'll be back. She lays down and goes right back to sleep when I return. Good luck!!! |
Can you move his crate to the other side of the bed? Then if you need to get up in the middle of the night he won't see you, but he will still be close enough to hear you and know you are there. Or maybe place a towel over the door while he is sleeping in it? When Mia and Leo were little, they seemed to sleep much better if there was a towel or a blanket over the door. I would do that during the day when they were napping, it would kind of muffle the other household noises so they slept better. (babies need their sleep, ya know! :p ) |
Buckeye cried at night when I got up too so we moved him to living room with the door cracked so I could hear him if he needed to go out. He cried from being away from us for a few nights but it got better and now he does great and I don't bother him when I get up...unless I need a glass of water but that's another story. :) |
When you get up have NO eye contact what-so-ever, just ignore him. Worked for me anyway, hope it works for you...... |
Petey Petey sleeps in bed with me. At first, everytime I'd get up to go pee, he'd follow me. He's almost 18 months now, and he knows i"m coming right back, so he stays in bed.
