NC Meetup April 8th, 11-3 in Greensboro! Come one, Come ALL! OK, I know fully well I have been a complete pest about this meetup, lol, :D but for all of you who are SICK of me talking about it, take solace in the fact that in one more week, you don't have to hear about it anymore, lol!! For all of you who are as excited as I am, :woof: and for those of you who have been hiding under a rock and don't know a THING about it, here is the original thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32646 And here is the tentative schedule directly from the day's program I am composing to be handed out at the registration table. ********************************* :newarrow: Today’s goal is to meet new friends, pet yorkies, play with yorkies, talk about yorkies, share insights and ideas about yorkies, chat about yorkie products and toys, compare yorkie foods, and in general completely immerse ourselves in the beautiful world of yorkies for four hours! What better way to spend the time? Here is today’s tentative plan! 11am to 11:30 • Sign in, meet, greet, fill in name tags, ooh and ahh over other people’s dogs. Introduce yourself and your pup(s) to other folk! • Register for door prizes • Sign up for “Show Us Your Stuff”! • Buy raffle tickets : $1 each or 6 for $5. All proceeds benefit the Stephen M. Hussey Bark Park at Country Park . 11:30 to 12:15 Formal Welcome! Introduction and words from Rescue Group Enjoy your picnic lunches & Cake Costume Contest 12:15 to 1:00 Show Us Your Stuff! Does your yorkie do tricks? Is he/she agility trained? Show us what your dog can do! 1:00 to 2:30 Games and fun! Bubble catch! Let’s play “Pick Your Pooch” & “Wag the Dog” 2:30 to 3:00 Door Prizes & Raffle Drawing Formal pictures/Group shots Put on your best yorkie smile and pose for the camera! 3:00 A Fond Goodbye! Of course, you are welcome to stay as long as you like, but our event ends at 3. (They’ll probably have to drag me outta here if any of you want to stay! I could play with yorkies all day long!) ***************************************** Hope we get a TON of people and yorkies, and if any of you out-of-staters are interested in coming, there is accomodation info in the original thread. OH WOW!!! It's ALMOST HERE!! The MEETUP IS ALMOST HERE!! WHOOPEE!! :yay_jump: |

It's starting to sound like quite a few! Quote:
The Bark Park has been advertising the event independently for about a month with a note on their web site and a poster at the park on the gate of the enclosure. I have posters up at the local pet supply places, and have emailed posters to local groomers and vets. I have emailed local breeders and some of them are coming. The local Yorkie rescue group is also coming and bringing some pups. I do not have a firm count, but I am guessing somewhere between 20-50 people and at least that many pups or MORE as lots of people are bringing multiple dogs. I am coming supplied for 80. lolol I have also emailed the local TV stations, and if they choose to cover it, the Bark Park gets some good press. The lady who began the Bark Park, Gill Bray, tells me she went into the creation of the park with events just like ours in mind, but ours will be the first. Isn't this cool?? I am thrilled and I am hoping for WONDERFUL weather!!! Fingers crossed!! Rhonda, if you feel good, girl, my guest room is still open... |
Wow! You have been busy! That all sounds great, you will have a great turnout, with all your advertising. The news coverage would be great, and the rescue that would be so cool, I'm sure if they bring some dogs needing a home, they will find one that day. :D I could only hope one day that we could have a meet up like yours, maybe you could do our planning! Event coordinator you. ;) |
Wow!! :D It sounds like LOTS of fun!! Hows the weather lookin for you? I hope EXCELLENT!!! :p |
I refuse to believe the weather report! Quote:
FINGERS CROSSED FOR GOOD WEATHER!! :D |
MeetUp Attendees: Reminder on what to bring! List of things to bring to MeetUp: Camera Lunch Beverages Lawnchairs Family Yorkies! It is a bit of a walk from the parking lot to the dog park, so if you have wheels you can cart everything with, you will be good to go! Otherwise, bring multiple people with you to help you carry stuff, LOL! I will be bringing a hand cart that you can use if need be. I cannot WAIT!!!!! :D |
Sounds like a lot of fun and you have it all planned out so well! |
sounds like fun!!! I'm sure you all will have a BLAST! |
Agh! We'll be just missing it! We are moving to NC at the end of this month! Maybe we can catch the next one. :animal-pa |
I'm glad you posted things to bring.... All I was thinking of was just me, Lucy, camera, and camcorder..... I guesss since we'll be there a few hours, a smart thing WOULD be to bring a chair and some drinks.... Crystal I can't wait..... Hope all the showers go away...
