Double teeth My little girl will be 5 months old and she is starting to lose her teeth. The bottom teeth already fell out but her top teeth are coming in but her baby teeth are still in. Is this something that I should be worried about? Thanks Stephanie |
Small dogs have a notoriously tough time losing their baby teeth. It might have to be surgically removed. If your yorkie hasn't been spayed they can do it at the same time. Jessica *** I'm new to the board. Hi to everyone |
Hi there! My Porscha had all her baby teeth and her adult teeth we waited as long as we could to see if they would fall out before taking her in but they didn't. The vet said (and showed me) that the roots on her baby teeth were so long they never would have fallen out. He also said that if you let them stay and not have them pulled they will rot and cause infections. I waited until Porscha was a year old to have her spayed and thats when we had her teeth pulled (16 total!!). Hopefully your baby's will fall out soon! Give her lots of things to chew on!! |
Hi At you're next Vet visit, ask for a Dental Check up. The Vet can let you know if they will fall out, or they need to be removed. If you are going to have her spayed, it's best to do both at the same time :) |
Thanks for the help I think that I am going to the vet sometime this week. |
I waited until a year and had to have 4 baby teeth pulled. I was worried about the anesthesia, but he did great! |
I also waited to ave Gucci spayed wen she was a year, she had 4 baby teeth pull. |

My pup is 7 months old, and I have been putting off neutering him for a little while because he had two double teeth on the bottom. I looked at his mouth a while ago todayt - and one of the doubles is gone. So, I would suspect the other one will disappear soon. If it looked like they weren't going to come out, I was going to get them pulled when he gets neutered. But, it looks like we're going to be lucky. Carol Jean |
Shouldn't be anything to worry about since the smaller breed dogs are more likely to have to have their baby teeth pulled. |
