Rhapsody's birthdate Okay I know this sounds weird, but I was just sending of Rhapsody's papers, and I noticed it has her birthdate as 11/13/05. This throws me because her shot record that the breeder gave me, and the email that I received from the breeder when I was first considering her puppies has her birthdate as 12/15/06. I tried to email Angie, Rhapsody's breeder, but her email came back saying it didn't exist. This didn't surprise me too much, because she had mentioned that they were moving to Tulsa, OK in March; I had meant to get her new address, but I got so busy that I lapsed in my contact with her. I just thought this was really odd, and wondered if maybe Angie had made a mistake on the papers. . . . And if Rhapsody is a month older than I thought she's going to be a lot smaller than I thought. When I took her in to the vet at what I thought was 13 wks old she weighed 2.4 lbs -- now if she was actually 17 wks old she'll only be (according to chart) 3.5 lbs as an adult rather than 4.5 lbs. I know her dam was a little over 4.5 lbs, and her sire was 3.5 lbs. Thanks for listening! :aimeeyork |
I'd go by the date on the paper, unless she gave you the paper for another dog.. because that is the paper that would have been sent in to register the litter. You did mean 12/15/05 didn't you? |
Yeah, oops I meant 12/15/05!!! LOL See how confused I am! |
I don't have any advice for you, but when I bought one of my dogs, she came with papers that said one birthday, and a few months later we got completely different papers with a different dam and sire on them, and a different birthday. I also tried to contace the breeder to no avail. I didn't know what to do. |

And honestly, it's not as though it really matters. . . I just thought it was the strangest thing (and I was kinda wondering if the breeder had done a typo when filling out the birthday, or if she sent me the wrong papers.) In the end it's not going to matter; we'll still celebrate Rhapsody's birthday 12/15 because my son thought it was so cool that her birthday is just a day after his. . . honestly it just caught me by surprise. And I wish I had noticed it sooner just to clarify with the breeder that I received the correct papers. |
