stress causing ears to fall over? I took Ness to get his second puppy shots this morning. He screamed as much as when Pivo broke his nose (6 years ago). The breeder was there getting Ness's mother a checkup, and laughed and said that the father of that litter did the same thing when getting shots  But since getting home, his ears have been floppier than usual. They usually stand stiff straight up without help at all. Are they just getting heavy with hair, or do you think they'll be fine when he's more relaxed? |
Remember - puppies ears go up and down for a while...... mine even went up and down several times in one day... Carol Jean |
Sometimes they can flop down when they are teething. Ours were up and down for a while, too, especially when they were teething. We ended up with one little guy who has his ears up all the time, and one who has his ears down all the time. We think they're cute both ways. :) |
it is soo strange one of astro's ears seems to always get floppy around bed time for him. It is soo cute. |
i have heard both teething and stress can cause them to go down but they should come back up on thier own... and congrats and good luck! |
teething and stress can cause the ears to do this, also trimming the ears can help take the weight from them and help them to stand. Mine when puppies would some times stand and some times flop. They should do fine. |
Jewels ears would flop after she got shots and go back up a couple of days after. |
I think it was the shot. When I got Debbie at 10 weeks old, her ears were straight up but her sisters had flopped. The breeder said they had just done that and they had just had their shots. I guess it doesn't affect everyone the same. If they are hairy, you might want to make it easier for them to stand back up by taking off the extra hair. |
