Should I buy a Yorkie here ??? Hi everyone, I'm a new member to this site and current Yorkie owner. Our baby's name is Kahlua Behr and she is 3 years old. My wife and I are interested in getting a friend for Kahlua and stumbled upon this pet boutique near our home in So CA. Do any of you have any experience with this place? http://www.poshpuppy.info/Welcome.do...BF23A219A1CD82 We've fallen in love with one of their puppies after a couple visits, but wanted to check in with you folks before I wrote the check. What do you think? |
Welcome to YT. Pretty much everyone here is going to tell yiou not to buy from a pet store. You have no idea where those puppies came from. Look for a reputable breeder. There are people on here from CA. I'm sure someone can steer you onto one. |
The pups look very nice but I wouldn't buy from a pet store. I will try to find a reputable breeder. I agreed with Jeanie. I dont have any experience with this place, hopefully members from Cali do and can give you better advise. Hope that you find your perfect yorkie soon. Good luck. |
I am from Socal. I really think they have TOO many yorkies on that site. The puppies are very expensive for those registeries. You can find an AKC reg yorkie in this area with better quality and less expensive than those. I also think that they are lying on that site about their weights. There are some that appear to be already very large and their estimates look way off. I noticed that all of the estimates are under 5 lbs which isn't realistic for all of the dogs on that site. Did you know that ALL puppies from pet stores are from puppymills or backyard breeders? I know it sounds like a blanket statement, but a bad breeder is defined as a person who doesn't care to oversee the process start to finish of caring for a puppy. The last and most important step is finding a new home. Pet stores just hand over the dogs to whoever pays the price for them. And puppymills are just horrible, I shouldn't get started on those. Good luck in finding a puppy. |
HI!!! Welcome to YT!!!!! There sure are a lot of puppies on that site. Maybe you should check our Puppies for sale Thread. We would love to hear more about Kahlua Behr!!! :) :) :) Best of luck in finding your new furbaby. |
Hello and Welcome to YT. |
Thanks for all the warm welcomes everyone! I'm so glad I found this site! And yes, I will get pictures of Kahlua Behr up ASAP. |
I LOVE her name by the way! It is so unique! |
I wish I could take the credit, but I can't...my wife named her. I usually just call her "Behr Behr" since she looks like a tiny little bear. |
http://www.poshpuppy.info/Puppies.do...A1CD82?puppy=4 I really think this website is lying. That is a VERY big puppy and I can pretty much definately say that dog will be MUCH bigger than 5 lbs. Pet stores tell you exactly what they think you want to hear and there are no parents on the spot to tell you what the dog will look like when it's 6 months old. A LOT of people come on YT and end up upset because they were lied to by petstores about paperwork or size. Good luck with your search! |
Please get your next yorkie from a hobby breeder. Someone that sells out of their home. That way, you can see what kind of environment your pup came from. Pet stores do not stand behind what they sell and most of them buy from puppymills. Best of luck! |
