I found a breeder, but i have questions. . . Hi All! I hope everyone is doing very well! I think I found a breeder, but I have some questions for the experienced yorkie parents here: She offers a 6 month health guarantee-is this good/ok? Most I have looked at offer a year. Also, the puppies are not born yet so I would be giving her a deposit, small, but still. . .has anyone done this before? Is this ok? Sorry to be so ignorant, but this is my first puppy-buying experience. Thanks for all your help-ahead of time:) ~Maureen Oh P.S. Are there any other questions I should ask? |
breeder Why not ask for a vet reference and then speak with the vet. If you ask a vet if they would purchase a dog from a breeder, it will give you alot of insight. 6 month is not enough, but it is what it is...and a deposit on an unborn pup is risky...BUT if you get good feedback from the vet and the deposit is refundable if the pups are not what you are looking for..then you are risking nothing. If the breeder makes you take a pup or lose the deposit, I would pass. I never forced anyone to take my puppies..I think these things tell you the type of ethics the breeder adhers to in these cases..good luck |
I don't like the 6 month health guarantee and deposit on unborn puppy. I would look for another breeder. |
Deposits on unborn puppies are not unusual for the more popular breeders, but I would insist on a 1 year guarantee or I'd keep looking. |
