Oliver's gettin his manhood wacked- i'm nervous My poor baby! I felt so guilty for having to take his food away from him this evening- and it's so hard for him going through the whole construction bit that went on this week (posted in another thread) plus having to have this surgery and recovery in my mom's house (not the surgery, obviously... but being in a semi-strange house with a different potty area and another dog) I just feel so bad for putting him through all this at one time (the grooming earlier this week, the construction that I didn't know was going to happen) and now taking his manhood away from him. How horrible am i?- I'll be glad when he's safe and sound at home with me and this whole scary operation (going "under the knife") is over and forgotten--eventually... hah Please pray for my little boy that this is a, relatively, painless operation and he'll be back to his crazy self soon. Thanks everyone! :( |

GOOD LUCK !! Poor baby - he's had a really tough week....too bad the surgery didn't happen the day of those construction workers being in the house...at least he'd have missed all that.... |

Wow! What a week. Well, it sounds like the worst of it is over. Hopefully today will be a brighter day for the little guy! |

Thanks for the kind words- I dropped him off this morning and the nurse told the vet "Oliver is here for a CASTRATION!" hahahaha I couldn't believe it. The vet corrected her and said he was being neutered. My boyfriend said that nurse MUST BE Nurse Rachet (sp) heheheh I pick him up at 1pm. :) |

Dont worry its such a simple proceedure and I have nheard it is done and over with in 10 minutes. Chachi came home the evening after his surgery and acted as if nothing happened. |

Please remember - your puppy has no clue about this thing called "manhood." This is a "people term." And, he also has no clue that he is going to have anything done. So, you can be assurred that he isn't worried about his upcoming procedure. And, even afterwards, he won't even know what was done other than he's a little sore in one area. I'm sure he'll sail through everything with flying colors. And -- you'll be the one doing all the worrying. I can say all this because I'm getting ready to make the same appointment for my pup. He's 7 months old and ready to get neutered. Plus, I'm going to have a microchip put in -- and I'm pretty positive that he has at least two baby teeth that the vet will recommend pulling. I am not the least bit worried - I expect everything to go just fine. He's a tough, healthy, little guy, and I have a wonderful vet (two of them in the same office - lucky me!) BUT - like all of you, I'll still be happy when it is over and done with. Because if my pup is only a little sore for a day or two - I'll be happy when he's back to normal again. Good luck - Carol Jean |

Poor puppy! Poor mommy! But don't worry, Cooper wasn't even phased by his surgery and was back to himself the day after we got him home. Good Luck with everything. |
