update on zip He is ok. Even his hernias is gone down. He said that he is a little shy, scared easy and that why he might yelp. And he thinks it his way of getting my attention which he sure does. But he said he did notice he might have a lower Inguinal Hernias. When he gets fixed he will know when thin a few days. If he does it will be very costly and have to go to a specialist. He said this is generic. Now the question is. The breader said she warrent any generic proublems. I dont want to give him back I wont. But should she have to pay this costly bill? Should I call her now or wait till we know for sure. Has any one had this proublem? Oh by the way tike loves his walks and loves to fetch. I love them all. You couldnt pay me to sell any of them now. |
I am glad to hear that you are keeping them all. I t can be avery trying adjustment period. Sorry to hear about the Hernia. I would call the Breeder and see what she says. I called Cali's breeder yesterday because she was diagnosed with a liver disease MVD which is genetic and even though I did not have a guarantee she was very glad I let her know. She was going to pull her records and make sure not to breed the parents again and contact the 2 littermates owners to let them know. She said she was sorry and glad I let her know and wanted me to keep her posted on Cali. She did not offer any refund but I wasn't expecting her to since I didn't have a genetic guarantee. i ws afraid to call at first because I didn't want her to think i was looking for a refund but I knew she needed to be informed. So good luck and hopefully your breeder will help you. |
I called the breeder. I feel so much better. She said the female has the same thing. It should go away by the time he gets fixed if not they CAN do it when he gets fixed. She said she will pay for the extra cost to fix that proublem. I told her this doctor said he wont know for a few days after the surgery, she said thats not right. They will know right then and he can do it then. This doctor said has to go to a specialist and would cost about 800 she said no more like 100. big difference. |
so glad he is doing better :) Hugs your way :) |
I'm glad everyone is doing better. I knew you'd work this out. Hope zip gets to feeling better.. |
Of course, the vet will know at the time the neuter surgery is done and will perform it at the same time. He actually should know it before the surgery. I was quoted 230.00 for repair of an inguinal hernia, that included anesthesia, surgery, pain medicine, and followups. So your breeder is closer with respect to the price because you should pay for the anesthesia, pain medicine and followups with his neuter and she will only be responsible for the additional surgery. Also if he does have a unilateral (one-sided) inguinal hernia you might discuss repairing both sides because often the other side will herniate at a later date. I think I would start looking for a new vet, his lack of knowledge doesn't seem right. |

Marykay, Maybe the breeder could recommend a vet that she uses. |
