Bully Stix? I have seen lots of people on here that say they give their pups bully sticks? What are these and where can you get them? Parker isn't a very bad chewer, unless it is my leather shoes, paper, or cotton (cottonballs, q-tips & tampons). Everyone's babies seem to like them, so I thought I might try them. |
any pet store, they are digestible for our babies... i order from e-petsboutique.com in quantity so i always have them.. try them.. they are made of real bull penis... smelly though, but worth it. it also help with tartar and keeps their teeth clean.. lexi never had bad breath..knock on wood..... |

I tried giving Baby one, and I don't think she tolerated it well. She woke up in the middle of the night with some sort of snorting asthma attack and vomitted on my carpet. It smelled utterly GROSS!!! Her vomit never smelled before (just like dog food or something). I'm attributing that to the bully stick. It smelled like a cross between urine and skunk. I haven't given it to her in almost a week, and so far no more nasty vomiting. I'm not 100% sure it's from the bully stick, but I hope it was...that way I know what got her sick. If it wasn't from that...I'm at a loss! :confused: |

This is the first time I have posted anything in the Forum, but I have been a reader and I have gotten alot of great info from everyone. I have a darling little Yorkie (Lucy) that is 3pounds 2 ounces. She is 1 year old. I gave her the bully stick, after reading about how much everyone loved them. We unfortunately, did not have a good experience. She did love the bully stick, I could see her pulling the stringy meat between her teeth, but I did not think anything of it. I did not know that the stringy meat on the stick was balling up in her stomach. A couple of days later she stopped eating and did not want to walk much, I know now that she felt too uncomfortable. She was much better after a diarrhea session that looked like strings and blood. I almost rushed her to emergency but she quickly became herself again, happy, playing, no lethargy. I believe however, that the red was only the coloring from the meat because it did not happen again in the next bowel movement and she is bright and cheery. She did not even eat a whole stick, but perhaps her small size has something to do with it. |
I just recently bought Nikko some bully stix from the petstore but these are actually made from beef tendons and not penises. I don't know if they are much different but Nikko seems to like them. The only thing is that yesterday he seemed a bit constipated and when he finally went it was a hard little pebble and some stayed stuck to his tushy. I felt so bad for him that I gave him a warm bath and washed his tushy and he seemed happier. This morning he went like usual. Does anyone know if these things cause constipation? |

My girls LOVE them and they chew on them for hours which is nice for me so then I can get some work done, lol. We havent had a problem with them. It might be different brands that people may have problems with, Im not sure. They are a little smelly though :D I think lots of the treats that my dogs like are smelly though. |
Merrick Bully Stix I use merrick bully stix and they are made of beef tendons and do not smell. My zoe loved them and they are good for him. I give him 2 stix a week. |
