Dean Rankin I noticed the link on top Train A Yorkshire Terrier-has anyone used his methods of training? My puppy Tyson- he is so cute & I love him so much-he is getting spoiled rotten! He just will not poop on the paper or the wee wee pads & its driving me nuts. I praise him everytime he pees on them. He loves when I say-"you did good boy". His tail goes one way & his body goes the other. I need some training advice & wanted to know if anyone has had success with Dean! |
someone the other day was talking about litter box training and like you I'm at my wits end with her pottying in the house, but I guess there is this spray you can buy and put the wee wee pads in the litter box and spray the spray on them and it makes them want to go in the box, I think I may try this. |
I have tried the Spray & Tyson will just pee on them. Dean's training is 47.77. I am almost at my wits end. I figure-if you can pee on them & know where they are-poop on them too! |
I've read some bad things about Dean Rankin, but haven't personally tried his methods. I understand YOUR logic about the poop and pee going in the same place, but unfortunately, dogs don't generalize that well. Poop and pee are separate events for them and may have no connection whatsoever in their minds. This is what I would do: I'd pick up a piece of your pup's poop with a pad and then get rid of the poop. I'd then leave down the pad that smells a bit like poop. See if that helps. You might "baptize" a few pads at the time! LOL! Good luck! |
how old is your yorkie???? |
You might want to read this thread and then go do a goggle search on Dean Rankin http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...ht=dean+rankin |
Tyson is 10 weeks-he will be 11 next week |
age i don't know about people on here but from my experience (several people that i know have said the same thing) it took tonee a full year to become completely house trained. no matter what i did she just didn't seem to get it, but at one year she just fazed into it. |
