Missing the Poop Schedule Yoshi hasn't pooped in about a day, and normally he goes 3 times a day. He has been eating about the normal amount. When should I start being concerned? Is there any sort of laxative thing I can give him? Thanks all Dan |
could he have eaten anything that might be causing a blockage? |
I've heard to use mineral oil, but there seems to be some good advice at this thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...ht=mineral+oil Good luck, and keep us posted! :) |
Cali hadn't gone for 5 days and I took her in and the vet said that if she wasn't straining and trying to go then she was probably fine. They did an Xray because she was throwing up also, to make sure there wasn't a blockage, They ended up thinking there might be a string in her intestines not related to not pooping but I had surgery done for that and spaying etc and when I got her home she didn't poop for 3 days I placed a call to the er clinic and they didn't call back but the next day she pooped and has been going every day now. So if he isn't straining he is probably ok but I would call your vet any way. |
I just took him outside again and he went. He hadn't been straining at all before that, but it was just odd that he hadn't gone. You girls jinxed the poop curse! Thanks all :) |
I'm so glad he's okay! |
Don't become a "poop addict." How would you like someone keeping track of every time you go to the bathroom? Seriously - dogs usually go to the bathroom whenever they need to. And, there is no reason in the world that this has to be the same every day. A lot of things affect anyone's bowel movements....what we eat, the amount of water we drink, how much we went the day before, etc. etc. etc. Personally, the less poop I see around my house --- the happier I am. Asumming, of course, my dogs are acting their usual selves - happy, playful, energetic, etc. Carol Jean |
