How old were your furbabys when they started sleeping with you? Guess Im afraid of rolling over on her, but she sleeps in her little bed in the playpen at night. Plus my bed is WAY off the ground! That would be terrible if she fell! |
Bailey slept with me the very first night he came home, he's a sleeper, but if I move he moves quicker. |
at night, sometimes bunjee would sleep with me in bed, sometimes he'll sleep in his bed next to my bed, sometimes he'll sleep in his crate next to my bed, sometimes he'll sleep in his bed that's in the kitchen. haha. i let him choose which of his areas he'd like to sleep. but i choose whether he gets to sleep in my bed or not. and he didn't start doing so until he was more potty trained, which is when he was about 4.5 months old. |
For those that had their yorkies sleeping at night since they've bought them home weren't you afraid that they would poop or pee in your bed? |
When I brought my little Sasha home for the first time she was already 9 mos old. I really did not know where to put her for the first might- so I figured - they do not soil their own beds- so I kept her right by me. No problem- she did not do a thing- slept through the whole night- I was the one to get up 4 times to go to the bath room! It hasn't changed after 4 years. Somehow we know not to roll over each other! I also put a little bed on my bed- so that if she wants- she does not have to sleep next to me.( I roll around alot!) So half the time she is in her bed- and half next to me. I also got some cheap plastic steps- (dressed them up a bit)- now she can go up and down any time she wants. Good Luck! Sandy & Sasha |
Gracie is two and just started sleeping with us a few weeks ago. We had a really high bed and she couldn't jump up into it and I was too afraid to put her in it. We just replaced it with a regular sized bed. She thinks she has died and gone to heaven! Spike started sleeping in my daughter's bed at four months. Not even close to potty trained but he hasn't had any accidents in her bed (knocking on wood like crazy!). |
Tucker slept in our bed the second night. He never pooped in the bed because he considers it his bed (he just shares with us) and they usually won't go where they sleep. He can jump off of my bed but can't get up. He stands there and whines until I pick him up. (2 or 3 times EVERY night) |
Hmmmm....How old ? I'm a whimp...both mine lasted only hours in their own little beds....and pretty much have slept with me since day ONE. I'm a very light sleeper....got up every 2 hours without them having to wake me and never had any problems with my little bed buddies. I can't imagine NOT sleeping with them |
Cali was about 4 1/2 months when I let her sleep in my bed. rior to that she was in her playpen until about 2 in the morning then I would put her in her little crate on the pillow next to me until morning. My last Yorkie slept with me from day one and never soiled the bed, but I did get upw ith her and let her out during the night for awhile. My Pom never wanted to sleep with me but sleeps under the bed wrapped up in my bedspread that I have to pull over for her at bedtime. |
Dezi is 14 weeks old and she sleeps in her bed next to mine. Everyday at 4:00 a.m. she wakes me up to go potty and then she sleeps with me until about 5:30 in the morning and then she is UP AND WIDE AWAKE! :animal-pa |
Rowdy slept in his crate till he was about 5 months old. Rex, one the other hand, is already sleeping with us. Rex did real well in his crate for one week and then he figured out that mom, dad, Rowdy, and the senior dog were all in the bed while he was all by himself in the crate. So, after a week in the crate, he decided to cry and cry and cry. I had to get up very early the next morning and drive 4 hours and so I knew I had to get some sleep. My hubby was out of town so I got Rex out of the crate, made a little bed by surrounding him with pillows and we all slept the rest of the night. Then we were out of town staying with someone else and I didn't want him to cry and bother everyone else, so I let him sleep with me the next 2 nights, and the rest is history. He's a real snuggle bug and he just sticks pretty tight to me. I worried at first about him pottying in the bed - but so far (knocking furiously on wood) he hasn't. We have a king sized bed and I put a soft blanket at the head of the bed between our pillows and then put a pillow between my hubby and I at about our shoulder level - so Rex is pretty much contained within the pillows and he just snuggles up and sleep all night long. Rowdy will wake me up to go potty, but Rex never does. I guess we are really lucky! |
I toughed it out four days before Trace got in the bed with us....with Ramsey I only made it to two  She's obviously better at training. |
Oscar started out sleeping with us right off the bat when we got him at 8 weeks...pooped on my bed the first night. I crated him for a couple of weeks and we tried it again and he never pooped or peed in the bed from that night on. But he is a 6:00 a.m. alarm clock. Nobody in our house sleeps past then. |
:D Babe Girl has been sleeping with me every since I got her on the 17th of this month. That is until I punished her to her bed once she pee'd in mine lol. :p Quote:

No Bedframe!! I took off my bedframe so Bugaboo can easily jump off and on. He started sleeping with me when he was around 10 wks old and I slept very lightly. I can hardly sleep without him. |
