1800petmeds.com After seeing my last vet bill, for flea/tick/heart-worm prevention, I about hit the floor from shock (for 2 dogs (6 month supply) around $250)!!!! I am curious how the program works...is it the same product that comes from the Vet? Does my Vet need to provide a RX? Is there another route I may explore to find meds. that don't cost a small fortune? Or is $240 fairly normal? Thanks in advance for ANY help! :animal-pa |
i am not sure i have thought about using them too. right now i use the military vet and we pay at cost for everything so the prices are a lot lower. |
That company is a lot more expensive than Drs. Foster and Smith. I've been buying my flea and tick preventative from Drs. Foster and Smith for a couple of years and am very satisfied. I think their website is www.drsfostersmith.com Julie |

That does sound like too much. I think it should run around $10 per tablet. That would be about $60 per dog or $120 total for the two. It might be cheaper to get it from your vet. Best "let your fingers do the walking" and shop around for the most economical. :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa |

I looked into this about 2 years ago. From what I was told at the time, you still need a prescription from your vet for the heartworm prevention for sure. I'm not sure about the flea/tick preventative -- as you can buy the same stuff from pet stores so probably don't need one for that. Anyway, after it was all said and done, the price worked out about the same just buying it from my vet. Good luck in whatever you decide. :aimeeyork |
