New to Yorkies! I got a Yorkshire Terrier in December 2005. Previously I had a Bischon, which I had to put down at the age of 12. I decided I wanted a smaller breed so my new campaion could go more places with me. I obviously didn't research past the cuteness of the breed! My Yorkie's name is Petey and he's full of energy! Can anyone give me advice on how to curb his playful biting? He was born 11/9/05 and still has his baby teeth. Any suggestions would be most welcome. (He has tons of toys - and he loves playing with them.) Don't get me wrong - Petey has won my heart. But now I'm trying to understand his mind set more to make him happy and in turn make me happy. Thanks for your experienced advice! Gail |
Does Petey have any plastic chew toys, or something else he can regularly chew on (besides furniture :))? How old is he now? Usually after teething he'll be okay, just be sure he understands that biting is wrong and give him a stern "No!" when he does bite a bit too hard... |
