 oh so cute I could eat Poopsie all up. You'd have to pat me down to make sure I didn't scoop her up. |
LOL!!!! too funny... thanks... :D |
A baby doll face is the "deer caught in the headlights face". The rounder eye, small ears straight up, short muzzle. Just a sweeter face. On the other hand you have a "terrier face" where the muzzle is longer and broader the eyes are more almond shaped. It is the babydoll face that many people like. |
ok... I am going to apologize up front for offending anyone...... I am not meaning to.. but I just can't help myself. Did anyone else notice the distance between the eyes on some of those dogs? It was most noticeable on the very last one in the lower right hand corner and again on another on the gallery page. A couple almost look like they are missing a chromosome. If you click on the gallery page, there is one that is really extreme. (I sure hope that if any of you know the owner of this sight... you'll also note that I really do like the majority of the pups on there. I just thought the few were a bit odd looking) I am a big fan of the baby doll face! But at what price?? Are the jaws shorter? Is this going to create health issues later in the line? You never know until it happens. As with any trait we try to bring out in a breed, we are infact playing with genetics. While making one trait stronger a breeder might also be stregthing a fault right along with it. I wonder sometimes what some breeds sacrifice for the sake of the desired attribute. My hats off to the great breeders out there who really put there lives work into preserving the integrity of this breed that we love so very much! While Yorkies do come in all shapes and sizes, and always will, its nice to know that there are a group of you out there trying as best you can to ensure that this breed will remain as true to its form as possible and as free from genetic faults as it should be. Yikes.. I must be in some mood... I did not mean for this post to get so serious... I just wanted to say.... check out the funny looking eyes :D Sorry! |
I have an additional question on the website under puppies for sale it has a cutie pie female for sale and it says tiny female 5 1/2 months, 3lbs for $3500. I paid $950 for Georgie and he is 3.2 lbs full grown is the cost so high because of where the breeder is located? Just curious. Thanks :D |
A baby doll face is just a shorter nose. I love the look but at the same time, I've seen some that were a little extreme. They almost looked like pugs...there was hardly any snout there. When I see extreme ones, they look funny to me. Their eyes are further apart and a lot of times, their tongues are sticking out...while looks cute on some, the extreme ones make them look "different". BUUUUT, to each his own. |
1 Attachment(s) I believe Ollie has the baby doll face, she has the shorter nose. |

The price difference is because some breeders like to make people believe that the tiny ones are rare and therefor more expensive. Which is not the case at all. There is one one that Jeff Danes (did I get the name right) site for $13000. |
Sometimes with the short muzzle you have teeth crowding. Same number of teeth, smaller space. |

If you want outrageous prices check these out. |
If you look at www.sweetyblue.com you will see a lot of the European show dogs and there you will see a variety of terrier and baby doll faces, some look more terrier and some have those sweet little baby doll faces. When you look at that site and come away you will know the difference. |
