Do these Yorkies HAVE NAMES ? IT sounds like you haven't really bonded with them at all if you just use terms like 'Big Guy' ...'Little guy' etc.... :( and it sounds like you really wanted a smaller yorkie and the larger is getting kicked to the curb. When people bring a dog into their home - they should NOT have a preconceived weight goal set...unless of course you're a breeder etc.....but it sounds like you made some fast decisions and now the bigger yorkie is left out in the cold so to speak.... I hope he finds a good home where someone will love him and I really hope he gets the attention he deserves AND someone will always use his name.... Sorry...Sound a little harsh here... but I also read your previous posts and don't understand any of it.....ALL THE BEST to you and I hope things work out for you |
what can you do? I think you've been given reams of advice from many people who care. You can stop whining about this, send the pup you don't want to someone who will love to have it and go buy a cute purse to carry the other one around in. |

 I don't know exactly the feeling of having more than one pet but it seems like you don't want to get rid of either one of them and you shouldn't have too. It will take time for both your babies to get use to each other. "The Big Guy" has been use to being the only pet for along time now and hasn't yet grasp the idea of another pet coming into his space. Try having activities which includes both of them in it and hopefully they will adjust to one another. I hope this advice helps and I wish you all the best. Take care and keep us @ YT posted. Well said!!!!    |
Sounds like she wanted a designer dog, as an accessory... not a pet to love. |
Ahhh can we stop calling the 4.5 lb dog a big dog. It's really disturbing me! haha. I never in my entire life thought that I would be calling a 4.5lb dog a "big dog". :X :X :X |
Does "bigger" dog work for you? ;) |
Holy smokes folks... step back. She may not be making the wisest decision in some of our opinions, but it's her choice nonetheless and who are we to judge? She asked for help and most people have done nothing but rip her apart and jump her shi_ for her decision and/or way of thinking. I've seen very few resolutions. The way I see it she can try a behavioral trainer and/or give it some more time, or rehome the puppy, which is probably in his best interest. Reality is, the decision has already been made, so instead of criticizing can we offer her some help and solutions? MARYKAY48 - it seems the you are stressed and overwhelmed. I believe that rehoming your guy, not matter how much you love him is probably in his best interest. Maybe find a home where he will be an only dog or make sure the home has a dog at least his size. I'm so very sorry that you've had to come a place wherein you have to make a decision like this. Best of luck in whatever you decide to do. |

****** Anyhow******** I am really just tired & truly concerned, I feel bad because I am scared we drove this person away from here b/cuz of our comments, god knows we meant no harm but I could see how it might feel on the other side.... Oh gosh I just hope MaryKay48 that Tike gets a good home, I apologize if I insulted you .. just can't understand ur thinking that's all... but reallly I am sorry & I HONESTLY do hope you can find it in your heart to look out for Tike's best interest REGARDLESS. Thank you. :embarasse |
I wonder if she is going to update us on what she decided? |

it seems to me that she's just looking for affirmation to kick the "bigger pup" to the curb. and i'm sorry to sound harsh here, but she's gotten more than enough good advice about what to do. it's time to get off the pot and either pay some attention to the bigger pup instead of treating him like the unwanted stepchild OR give him to a family who will. if she can send him to california, i'd love to give him a good home. he'll play nicely with my "big" 6.5 pound puppy. |

I hate to see so much about a yorkie's size. Why is it big one, small one, old one? Do we call our children that or our friends? There is so much to these dogs than size. I hate for people to think that big ones are any less cute when they are just as precious, lovable and worth just as much. I understand charging less for the ones that are above the breed standard. But I hate it when I see people charge more for the really small ones. Why should that attribute make them worth more? You don't see breeders charging more for the ones that are more affectionate. |
I'm glad our husbands don't judge US by our weight...if so i'd be out the door...lol..with suitcase in one hand and potato chips in the other..hehe |
