Neutering and pulling baby teeth I have put my pup's being neutered off a little while to see how he does as far as his baby teeth go. He appears to have only two doubles (one on each side of his lower jaw) - the rest look fine - but, of course, I don't know which are baby teeth and which are adult teeth - and there are some areas where there are no teeth. Should I go ahead and take him in now - or wait another month or so? He is almost exactly 7 months old. Carol Jean |
At 7 mos I would think they should be out by now. |
Thanks for your reply - I do know that some Yorkies lose their baby teeth at a young age - and others hang on to some of them for much longer. My main concern is not putting off neutering too long..... Again - thank you! Carol Jean |
I took Diezel when he was a little over 9 months. He was nuetored and had 5 teeth pulled at once. Boy, he hated me that week :( But at least all the pain was over with at once and it cut the cost of the bill! I am still not sure what they pulled because he still has 2 baby teeth in front that I can see. |
When do the baby teeth start falling out? Tank is starting to chew like he is teething, but so far I don't thik he has lost any teeth. I'd like to time both the neutering and the teeth pulling at the same time but I don't want to wait too long. He's only 2.5 months so I have some time still, but I know I need to start thinking about scheduling the operation and what not. |
I'm taking Jaxon on Monday for neutering - he'll be exactly 6 months. I called the vet to ask about the baby teeth too since I noticed his adult fangs are coming in but the baby ones aren't out yet. They'll take a look when I bring him in. Will be a tough day for him, as well as me!!!! :( |
