Free treats, anyone? Frodo does not like dog treats! Does anyone else's baby not like normal dog treats? Frodo just doesn't care for them and now I've got a bags of dog treats just sitting around. Anyone want them? |
what kind r they? |
Trixie doesn't really care for treats either. Every now and then she'll eat them, like as a last resort if she thinks Flash might eat it if she doesn't, but for the most part, she just buries them in the pillows on my bed, or in the couch cushions, any dirty clothes she may find on the floor... |
i just pm 'd you |
Kloey was the same way, very picky, I bought her some real beef bites from the pet store and she likes them , I also give her cheerio's (the yogurt coated ones) and she loves them! She also likes ones with peanut butter on them. |
Something must be terribly, terribly wrong with Frodo... ;) |
My dogs dont eat dog treats either. I am sure you will find someone to give them to. |
Max didn't like the first few I tried but then we discovered Bil*Jac liver treats for Dogs. Oh My Goodness. He recognizes box and goes nuts as soon as I open them.\ |
Send em over here! I don't think I've found anything yet that Joey won't eat. |
PS Just for curiosity, I'm wondering if those of you who have dogs that turn their noses up at treats freefeed or are they fed on a schedule? I'm most definitely not implying that one or the other is better, just curious if freefeeding effects a little one's affinity for treats... |

Max is on a schedule. He has food available at feeding time only. He was a horrible picky eater until I read a post that suggested Nutra Max and voila, he ate 1/2 cup last night and then again this morning. Max gets treats for training time and he adores Bil Jac I hope they are not bad for him. It was recommended at pet co. Here's the web addy http://www.biljac.com/store/products/dogttrtM.asp |
My babies are all free fed, and they are very picky about their treats. They will eat just about any human food they can get their teeth on, but will only eat the bacon strips treats. I have tried many. If you figure out the free feeding relativity to treats please let me know. I want my babies to eat the treats that make their breath smell good!! |
My dogs don't like dog treats very well either - unless they get them from my neighbors - who can have the exact same treats - but they always taste so much better!!! Anyway - I don't think dog treats are very good for them anyway. So, I give them chicken, other meats, cheese, carrots, and other food for treats instead. Works for us!! Carol Jean |
It astounds me that your dogs don't like treats. What kind of treats? Eddie refuses all hard treats, but he loves an Alaska-made product called Yummy Chummies. They're soft and have salmon in them. Up here, we call them "doggie crack." At obedience class, the instructor uses bits of hot dogs. The nutritional value of that bugs me, but how could a dog not like hotdogs? I have no idea how expensive Yummy chummies are online, but here's a link if you're interested. http://yummychummies.com/ |
